throwin down a backflip

would kind of think you would want to talk to people that have actually done it. asking us is like going to mcdonalds and asking them to fix your car.

I'd try FreestyleMTX.com. There's more and more sledders on that site all the time, just like snowest but for FMX.

I threw down a backflip one time...climbing a hill, hit the cornice at the top, sled flipped right over backwards on me and then I managed to let it ghost ride down the hill. It was pretty much awesome. I've taken my sled off some pretty sweet jumps too...feel free to PM me for details on these endeavors...

See it in your head and watch it over and over again and some more. You need to visualize it and want it. When you are ready you will know. Don't do it to just do it, MAKE SURE YOUR READY!!!!!

Take your weights up a gram or two.

Come into the approach with more speed but less throttle. Have enough speed to carry you the distance of the jump, but off the throttle enough to have play going off the ramp.

As you are lifting off the ramp, you pull the rotation over your head, and throttle down hard, the new momentum of the track will help with the rotation of the sled. You have to commit and get your head around to see the landing. Dont stop pulling around or let off the throttle till you are all the way around.

If you have done it on a dirt bike you should have a good feel for the technique in the air. I practiced for hours on a BMX bike in a foam pit to get a good feel for the rotation, and getting comfortable on spotting the landing. :D

Any questions?

I've seen two different guys try it. Both of them wrecked 3 times before they gave up. It might be the hardest I have laughed in a long time. My side hurts just thinking about it. lol

They both had the perfect dirft/cornice to try it on and they did come close but it didnt happen.

Have fun, and I would suggest maybe no hood/windshield if you dont want them broke :) Eric
