Throttle Sticking in Cold Weather

Rode today on the best day I've had so far on the Pro. Deep powder and beautiful sunny day. I noticed that the throttle was accumulating ice in between the block and the thumb lever. No big deal, cleared the snow and went on. However, as the day went on it got much worse. To the point where the throttle would not pull closed like it should. It felt like I had cruise control. You had to push it closed or the sled just kept moving. This made it impossible to ride near the trees. I wasn't too happy and I'm hoping that I can spray some silicone or something in the block to help the buildup of ice. My buddies Pro did the exact same thing. Looks like a nasty problem when it happens. Anyone else?

if you look at the bottom of the throttle block you will see a knotch cut out for the cable, this is where most of the buildup starts. had the same problem everytime i rode the deep, can't seem to keep the bars out of the pow:) i took a piece of marine foam that has adhesive on one side and cut out a chunck to fill in the hole. it will still build up some on the edges but not near as bad. ended up more than once where i wasn't planning on being because the sled didn't want to stop...

Same on mine, I tried some heavy duty silicone spray on the cable but haven't been out this week.

Ya I had the same issue with mine filling up with snow inside the throttle and the bars when I was slaloming back in forth with the throttle just cracked instead pinned. This got really annoying because I had to use my key to clean out the snow that was packed. Not sure what would work to avoid this, maybe trim some of the ledge on the throttle lever so the snow can't hang off it and start building up...I will have to look into this more or keep it pinned lol

We have been spraying the throttle block with silicone. It works for two rides and then we need to spray again. Saturate the whole block and wipe off the excess.

I used my key to get the void under the thumb piece clear of snow. I was nervous as hell that I would drop my key in 3 feet of powder. I'll try the silicone trick and look into M8Sandman's idea.

Wow! All this excitement of riding deep powder is making me want to ride like you guys. Maybe I'll have so much fun that maybe my throttle will get packed with snow also. Toughen up princesses, enjoy want you ride and yave fun.:D:D

If you do lose your key, just unplug the ignition switch.

I'm not complaining because my seat is uncomfortable or my grips aren't warm enough. I'm complaining because it's near impossible to ride through the trees in deep powder with your throttle sticking at 1/4, 1/3 and wide open. Your balance goes to $hit. I don't want my Pro wrapped around a tree because the throttle is stuck.
