Throttle Safety Switch Bypass...NOW NO REVERSE...HELP!!

2012 Pro...Installed Fastrax Throttle Block, and Tether, and did the Fastrax Throttle Safety Switch Bypass. Now we do not have reverse.

Tried the modified switch on another Pro, and it works perfect. Installed the ECU on the other Pro, and it works perfect.

Disconnected the hand warmers, thumb warmer, brake light, etc...to see if there was a short interfering with the system...no luck, still no reverse.

Unplug the modified TSS and sled goes into "Limp Mode" as it should.

Had the sled at the dealer checking the TPS, and they confirmed the ECU was getting the reverse signal when the button is pushed.

Running out of ideas...thoughts anybody?

Try just taping and zip tieing the TSS and stashing it up under the dash. If for some reason your bypas isn't reading correctly the sled will think the throttle is sticking open and won't do much of anything right.

Thanks for the response!! The modified TSS works fine...we installed in on another sled and it runs perfect.

UPDATE on the issue. We pulled the ECU from the second sled, and installed it on the problem sled...THE PROBLEM WENT AWAY.

So, it appears we have an ECU problem. Taking it to the dealer this week to get it replaced.

Update:

Turns out the TSS is different from 2011 to 2012/13.

The TSS Bypass Mod will work on the 2011, and not the 2012/13. This also means that zip-tying the TSS closed will NOT work on the 2012/13.

Polaris apparently realized the system could be bypassed and modified the Flash so it reads both resistance numbers at different times (throttle closed, and throttle open).

Interesting. Looks like we're re-installing the stock throttle block and TSS (for chits and grins, I'm going to install a zip-tied stock TSS and see what happens...will report back).

So the way I take it from both of your posts is that you were installing the TSS on both a 2011 and 2012 Pro. Once installed, the '12 had a no reverse condition. After swapping the '11 Pro ECM, the "no reverse" symptom went away?

Were there any abnormalities with the 2011 ECM installed on the 2012?

You are correct...our test sled is a 2011...the problem sled is a 2012. The flash on the 2011 doesn't recognize the modified TSS. According to dealer, the later flashes on the 2012 does.

There were no inconsistencies on the stand in the shop...BUT...according to both Curt at Fastrax, and Dan at Skagit Valley Polaris, the 2011 ECU is NOT ideal for the 2012

I have this setup on my 11 love the look and how I don't hit the kill in a climb now. However I broke my switch off from a branch got a new one and lost it rolling it over on a side hill getting unstuck. I'm going with a bar mounted kill switch this time
