My 900 reads:
3k685 idle
890 WOT
Outer-outer reads 4k373

Values will be reversed if you read from the front-center. Couldn't get my meter probe in there.

thanks mule but,
i was told that 8 and 9's were interchangeable for testing reasons. so that does not even sound close. how would thevalues be reversed? i took out the air box and pullied the throttle bodies off to get a good look at what i was testing..,..

Depends on which side of the wiper you measure from.

There's a resistive element on the inside, goes all the way across the range. That's why when oyu measure outer-outer the value doesn't change, and no value inbetween will be higher than that value (unless its an open).

The center pin is the wiper that sweeps across that resistive element and contacts it at some physical position. When the wiper's at 50%, half that resistive element is on either side. When it's at 25%, you get a quarter of that element on the short side (Lower value) and 3/4 on the other (Higher value). Add them together and you'll get just a hair lower than the outer-outer measurement.

bah, could have just posted this:

call me what you want but i read and see is blah blah blah....english man ohm readingthat is what i need or volt reading that i read in another post....ps closed wiper or idle...
no offense with blah,
thanks
