Throttle Cable Installation

Hey everyone,

I am putting a new extended throttle cable in my 2003 RMK Edge 800 VES. Last year on my last ride, after throwing oil in the reservoir, I noticed that the adjuster threads on the cable for the oil pump side were stripped out. Just about to get my sled in the shop and replace it. Wondering where I should have those stop nuts set at on each side.

Any help/input would help. Hope this all makes sense

If you look at the oil pump arm, near the point it mounts to the pump, there should be a line stamped on it, there should also be a line on the pump casting, make sure the 2 lines match up at idle, then double check to make sure the arm starts moving as soon as you pull the throttle.

Whenever I do any oil pump adjustments I also like to double check the oil/ fuel ratio, after a short ride I measure the gas burned and compare it to the oil used. As long as you not leaner than 50:1 you should be good

Hope this helps
