Throttle bodies blowing off

I have a push turbo on my 2010 nytro recently installed a manual boost t and increased my boost to 10lbs blew the throttle bodies off 3 times today. What can I do to keep this from happening again, do you guys who run more boost have different clamps or something else? Other than that the sled ran great actually hit 15lbs while I was tuning which is to much but I had a big smile for a minute.

Take off tbodies and boots, clean up put a small amount of "the right stuff" made by loctite on the sealing surfaces, reinstall and tighten Down. Double check nothing is damaged or not installed properly,

Blowing off throttle bodies or intercoolers is normally a high boost application issue, so im guessing there is another issue such as not installed properly or bad fittings

i had to clamp my intercooler down it was the only way for me to stop it.some use a strap. some intercoolers have a welded in peace underneath you can hook to.

Use Permatex " The Right Stuff" sealant and make sure they are clean and free of oil first. You may also need to take out the spacers on the clamps and use washers instead to get a tighter hold.

Just FYI if you are blowing the throttle bodies off and hitting 15 pounds i hope you are running race fuel and air/fuel guage. if this is on pump gas you are asking for an engine explosion.

My Phazer did that. MPI super charger on it and in their manual it tells you to take the bushing in the clamp off and shave off approx 1/8 of an inch. I would assume the Nytro would be the same.

I have aem air/fuel and boost gauges and I have race gas mixed in to be safe while tuning. I was adjusting my boost t to run 10lbs and momentarily spiked to 15lbs, not a big deal air/fuel runs right between 12-13 just need to fix throttle bodies popping off, thanks.

The key is the clean both surfaces, with a very good cleaner, I used an electrical contact cleaner to get it as good as possible... Then made sure they were seated perfectly, once I cleaned them perfectly, and seated perfectly, never had another issue...

I did at first have an issue with inter cooler angle placing weird force/twist, as engine revved, and flexed, the intercollegiate was attached to the frame...so, it was popping off under load...tweaked some of the angles, to make it more flexible, and did the cleaning....problem was solved...

Also, if you are still having issues, try swapping out hoss, to a hose that allows some stretch...

I blew the throttle bodies off my Appex first time out and everything was 100% clean, installed squarly, and clamped down tight.

My solution was to remove the throttle bodies and rubber boots that clamp to the cylinder head. I decided to use 3M spray glue on the boots to the head and the throttle body to the boots. On the intercooler and charge tube connections I used hairspray. Eric
