Ok, I'm tired of searching and looking at page after page of irrelevant results of the thread i'm looking for.

Does anyone have a link to the thread where there was a nice step by step on how to replace the helix, spring, and add delrin washers in the secondary?

Thanks for the help!

The helix is removed by taking out the 4 torx 27 screws, now they can be a bitch, i ended up having to drill mine out on saturday.

The helix can be removed by hitting the clutch on a 2x4 of wood or something not to hard.

Once the helix is out you will see the yoke with a snap ring holding it in place, you will need to compress the spring down by pushing down on the yoke, SLP makes a great clutch changing tool which make this step much easier.

once you remove the snap ring the yoke will come up, take the yoke off remove the spring. Dont have your teeth over the yoke/spring cause it could come up with some force.

Then you can add your delrin under the spring cup, put your new spring in,put the yoke on the top of the spring and compress it back down to fit the snap ring back on.

Now note that the yoke has a double tooth on it in one spot so it will only go on a certain way.

The compressing of the spring on re assembly can be a bit of a fight, a spare set of hands may make it easier.

Put the new helix in and snug up the t27's!

What he said except I don't think he put enough emphasis on the most important part. It can seriously be a pain in the a*s!!!

Perfect - thanks!!

Didn't someone make a cheap secondary fixture with a chunk of ready rod? Not that I can't handle it, but I prefer the chicklets stay where they belong.....

It's not too bad as long as you have the SLP clutch compressor and a good set of snap ring pliers.

Just be aware the spring is in compression, it's not gonna shoot through the roof.
I'd highly recomend the slp clutch tool, it makes changing things on primary or secondary a breeze.
