Thoughts and Prayers for my father

And to all who have recently lost loved ones or are undergoing illness and hardship. My father was recently diagnosed with cancer for the second time in his life. The type is very rare and spreading fast. On Monday he underwent surgery for a kidney stone. Tues he had an extensive 4+ hour surgery for the cancer. The doctors were able to remove about 90%, but he has masses on his lungs as well. We were told today that he may not be with us much longer. Chemotherapy may no longer be an option as he may not regain enough strength for the process.
My dad has always been a hard worker. And always willing to go out of his way to help others. He grew up in a time that didn't allow him the opportunities many of us enjoy today. Him and my mother just moved out here to MN this summer to be closer to us their grand kids and family. I was finally able to take him snowmobiling for the first time last season and he absolutely loved it. For this Xmas I only ask that I get to take him again. Please remember your loved ones and friends this holiday season. And when you think life has thrown you a bad apple. Just remember that in many cases it could be worse.
Through all this, I still want to wish everyone a Happy Holiday season. :beer;

I'm so sorry to hear man. Your father, you and your family will be in my thoughts and prayers. Ift there is anything I can do let me know.

Chris

I'm very sorry to hear that, it sounds very much like what my boss died from last year. It was called Signet Ring Cell cancer. 45 days from diagnosis until he was gone. But there are so many different types that they know of now days.

Again very sorry to hear that and my thoughts and prayers are with you and yours.

Be thankful

You may not have thought about him every day, but you will when he passes. You'll be amazed at all the little things that will remind you of him. I've lost both my parents, and I still do something everyday and I think, "that's how they would have done it." Your message is true about appreciating your loved ones while they are still with us. Yes, they and us all have flaws, but there's some good in everyone. Everybody should practice some random acts of kindness. Our thoughts are with you.

My thoughts, prayers and great mojo are being sent your way. Let me tell you from experience that people's thoughts and prayers work wonders....
I promise to say a little extra prayer tonight for him.....

My thoughts go out to you , its a very rough time. I lost my Mom , 2 best friends(golden retrievers) to cancer , my sister has it as well as many friends. If I can think of one thing to tell you , its say all the things you are thinking NOW. Tell him how much you loved the things you did together , the things he did for you , everything. I kept thinking I will , soon , tomorrow.... tomorrow never came and I sooo wish I would have said those things to my Mom:(. sj

we lost my mom 2 years ago tomorrow. wow! I was with her almost constantly from diagnosis until death (3 months) and it was the best experience ever. It was full of caring and love and a honesty that only this experience can bring out. I had a ton of support here. Those threads are gone now but the support was awesome. Enjoy every day, and conversation and moment you get. Knowing the inevitable can be a gift if properly embraced. Sorry for the diagnosis.

Thoughts & prayers to you & your family. As said before tell him what you want to now, lost my youngest brother last year & wish I would have got the chance to tell him how I felt.

Again thoughts & prayers to you & your family.....:(

Thoughts & prayers to you & your family. My wife lost her mom (and best friend) to cancer this year... she battled hard and was able to make last Christmas very special! Hang in there and make the most of every possible moment in this difficult time!

WOW this hits close to home!

Sept. 21 this year my dad was diagnosed with lung cancer as well. He also had pneumonia and infection in one lung very badly. On Oct. 1st the Dr. removed his entire left lung. They wanted to do chemo as soon as he was well from the surgery. Dad decided against chemo because his dad, father in law and cousin all died from chemo for lung cancer. So after much research and prayer, he decided to try an alternative immune boosting theropy in Mexico. I just got back from excorting him down there. He has two treatments left and it is working great for him.

Here is a link to the hospital and treatment.

PM me if you would like to discuss this further, I would be more than happy to share our experience with you or anyone else in interested.

My thoughts and prayers for you, your father, family and friends as well!!

Very sorry to hear of your bad news.

Like others have said, take this time to be with him and tell him what you want him to hear now. Lost my grandpa about 2 years ago to lung cancer and didn't do that, I just figured he knew and left it at that and I wish now i would have done it different. So take your chance now. If there was 1 thing I wish they could find a cure for it would be cancer.

Thoughts and prayers to you and your family.
