thoughts about the 2007 summit... i just bought one

Take it to your nerest dealer, make sure all the updates are done, and you will have a solid sled. We have one in our group now with over 3000 miles on it and it has been probably the most reliable sled in our group after our dealer did the clutch update. Solid sled, you'll be able to beat up on stock M8's and dragon's too (atleast all the ones i've been around, i know there will be biased replies to this, with people stating their stock M8 can beat my stock xp or even a 07 rev but that aint gonna happen when you sled is set up right, this is my honest opinion after over 1400 miles in the steep and deep utah powder last winter), which is the fun part:D

it has 1800 miles on it and it just got out of the shop in august from the past owner.. it has a new airfilter lightweight can and new reeds... any other suggestions to do to it?

The 07's do run strong and are a great sled but yes I will disagree on it beating the dragon and M8. If all three are set up well it will come down to rider weight and skill. I have seen all three run awesome and are very comparable sleds. The two that my buddies have both blew there crank and had to be rebuilt, that the biggest issue I have heard with them.

Depending on your weight you may want to put some stiffeners on the running boards, all doos are a bit flimsy in that area. You may want to gear it down a bit, I believe I am running a 16/47. It really pulls hard off the bottom end and will still run out at 75-80mph. I raised the bars about 3 in on mine above the stock height . Read some of the old threads on how to set up the suspension based on your weight and riding style. You will enjoy the sled, it is as capable as they come..

07

Mine ran best with the limiter strap pulled up no preload on the rear shock spring . Check what track it has on it the powder max track is the way to go and as far as the m8 and d8 just tell them to bring it to the hill and let it rip:D

My bro-in-law has one and it is a great sled. Dealer did some clutching and it really runs great. Make sure you set to clickers to run the rpm where it supposed to.

Hey Wyo
I had an 07 X 159 by far the best Ski Doo I have ever owned. No BS! I put a Trygstad head on, Dynamo Joe clutch kit,and I could out climb M1000's.I traded it in on a new one and hope I won't be dissapointed!

DO NOT attempt to re-gear to 16/47. That is a typo. A 19t top gear is the smallest I would ever run. Get the clutching set-up (Dynamo Joe kit works great) and get a higher comp head on 'er and that machine rocks....until the crank goes.

My brother has a 151 800 adrenaline. He has been riding for 2 years(little Skill). He can smoke dragons and m8's all day long infact he does. I have a 163 xp that he can stay with I am lighter by about 10 lbs. His sled is very frustrating to me. I had an o6 X that he could smoke and that was after the SLP package was done to it.

I have the 07 adrenaline and love it. I have bent the running board from jumping so i would reinforcement those. If you have the x or xrs i would look into trading out the track, not a great track in my opinion. Other then that you have your self a strong fun sled, now just pray for a little snow. hope this helps.

Dave is correct-- typo on the top gear- it is a 19. I did put in a DJ clutch kit too. This was sometime during the infamous clutch recall/snafu, I don't really know how much it did vs. the supposedly improved clutch parts from BRP.. I know I have 900 or so hard miles on a single belt so I am not touching anything on it till I smell crap and see fire... I am pretty dilligent about adusting the belt height on the secondary as this does seem to be a bit more critical than on other sleds I have had..

y-pipe, head, lightweight can, then reinforce the bumper;),kiddin, get clutched accordingly, then like the other's say it's all about weight and rider ability,That motor pulls sweet when set up right.
And you already got the better track if it's the adrenaline.
Just let it rip,and put a smile on.
Trevor.

Ps Do yourself a favour and dont worry about that expensive oil either.throw standard mineral in and your good to go.

If this is the first sled you have owned, you will love it as is.

If you were upgrading from "y-brand" sled then you would have something to compare to, but if not...........

Its light, easy to handle, good power, wide powerband, crisp throttle response and floats on the snow.

HAVE FUN.

Good Sled

Mine has a DJ clutch kit and Marcuso rails. Look up Marcuso on here and get his rails. Easy to install and the launch pads are really great when climbing steep, but still evacuate snow. The picture was taken before the DJ kit. 100% stock.

I ended up ging with the 320 spring and the pin weight to keep the revs at 8400 on the tach with a 44-36 helix. Last year I changed the helix from 300 to a 320 spring and I think it ran even better. Some guys will not agree but it would hill climb better than my 06 159. but had to get rid of that crap lite track.

I would live to see the stock M8 or Dragon that can beat an 07 Rev. Can't happen. The hardest thing to get used to is riding with the big grin. Your cheeks hurt after a while:D

I rode an 08 M8 for a short while and then immediately got on my brother in laws 07 Rev 800 and there was no comparison. I have no bias and would like either but the Rev was amazing. Both had clutch kits in and otherwise stock.
The Rev now has a few other goodies. (Never too much power for him).

I guess this is the doo section, where things can't happen.... how could you forget 07 is when the 700 dragon was beating up on all the 07 rev's.

Like most guys said make sure all the updates are done and you will love it. I fell in love with mine, sometimes I wonder and I just can't see why I would need a better sled! ;)

This is a Stock 07 800R like yours, need I say more?
