We were out a couple days ago, rode 2 days mix of machines. The snow was a bit heavy especially as the day got on and deep enough to provide a good challenge to all the machines. The Pro's 1 -163, 2 155's certainly held their own. They'd win a few lose a few to the stock 800's and the e-tecs. The freerides struggled in the deep snow climbing, seemed to trench bad. The argument started as soon as the Cat and Pro 163's were besting the Doo 154's that its the longer track, they countered with yeah but you 154's got more sq inches on snow etc etc. No winner there, but the winner overall climbing was the 10 M8, piped controller ypipe, 4" air intake. Also had a 07 Rev set up well modded a bit worked very well (not stock) the stock 800 XP's and Pro's and Etecs were taking turns beating each other. Handling, most folks seemed to prefer the Pro for fun factor and the Pro guys weren't opening the hood at all. The Doo guys steady, the Cat dudes a bit, but Doo clear winner for side panel open time. If Pro guys get another few HP I figure the winner is gonna get pretty clear, cause they ain't really losing now. Lots a fun, no breakdowns, no wrecks, decent snow.
Now I gotta clarify something, the sky was somewhat overcast mostly, blue peeked thru a few times....but no where near the rose colored sky with the big yellow pokla dots like the sky in fredw's world. So his results may differ from ours.
