i stopped eating at North Hiway years ago. i just go in to have coffee with all the outstanding citizens that gather there. and i love the smell of diesel early in the morning (any idaho falls local knows what i'm talking about). my dad used to take me in there 25 years ago for a coke and a bag of peanuts. anyways, indian is still a little spooky but that place is always like that. extra careful past gas can hill and then hold it to the bar. we go on thursdays/fridays if you ever want to hop in.

the wife and i did the valentine's day deal last night to beat all of the crowds and are going for a little night ride tonight. probably park at the mouth of wolverine canyon and take taylor creek over to the bone store. warm up with a few beers in front of the fire place and then head back under the moon.

^^^^thats some funny chit right there. i know how the training injuries go. was getting ready for a fight dropping from 180lbs to 160lbs. on a monday 3 weeks ago messed the knee up grappling went the rest on the class and the next day sparring until i noticed the i couldnt put any pressure on my left leg. getting old sucks.

I know how you feel. I jacked up my lower back a few weeks ago and couldn't even get out of bed or sit up without the wifes help. My problem is I am always too impatient to wait for help, or to "proud" to ask for help and do the work of two men by myself. Someday maybe I'll learn that I am not 22 anymore. Last fall I was back home working cattle and got threw from the horse. That was the first time in years that a horse has thrown me and the next day absolutely sucked. I have decided that after 30 it is all downhill from there.

Believe me, your not alone. Several of my friends have the same thing happen to them. Boise was pretty immune to the economy, then bam, we got slammed. Lots of guys got the one two punch, work then wife.

Snow Fox....I hear ya. My dad got thrown off his horse last fall and almost didn't make it on our annual SD pheasant hunt. He broke 3 ribs.

I'm confused. When I lost my wife it was a bonus!!!! (she'd say the same thing. lol) And the good part about being this slow at work is all the free time. we can all work on ourselves a bit. be better at something. Life is not just about money... any more.

seems no one is immune to the financial destruction. happy to have good friends and my great health.

Ah, it's not as bad as it sounds, things are looking up. I "just" lined up a ride with some great guys tomorrow. (that put me in a better mood ) And, probably another ride next weekend, different friends.

Just the dependable buddies I had over the years, are not able to be there this year. Kinda sucks.
