I guess their first problem is quite obvious, relying on evolution rather than intelligent design!
After church services last week our pastor always asks if there are any questions. One of the congregation asked in there was life elsewhere in the universe. With out a pause his response was no, not as we know humanoid type life. Because God sent his son here to earth to die for us.

Thats hilarious...not the question to your pastor...but the fact people look up to him to answer all their questions, and think he has the answers...lol..dude is a fiction story teller, thats about it
The universe is simply to vast and our technology is to primitive .We may confirm life elsewhere but its unlikely we will be able to contact them if that ever happens.
However given the vastness of the universe and the sheer number of stars and planets orbiting them its a mathematical certainty that life does exist out there somewhere.
