debating on selling my s/c apex and buying a new xp.love my apex besides the weight,it runs super strong now that i got it dialed in.i got about 30 g's into my apex including s/c,track and light weight goodies that saved about 50-60 lbs but it's still heavy.i ride with pretty much all doo guys and as for stock sleds they do very well.i never owned a doo before but it crossing my mind and so is the nytro but it heavy to.is there any one on here that owned a doo and jumped to yammi?would u go back?the biggest thing that is holding me back is boosted reliability.once u have it or tryed it nothing else compares

i must be going crazzzzzzzzzzzy.

THANKS

I had a mm, sold and bought an 06 summitx, rode it for a year, lost the first motor at 1400 miles, got angry and bought an apex, would not trade it for an xp or a nytro, love the rapex and bulletproof.sorry but the quality of brp is very poor as of late.

Doo or Apex?

I agree. I owned a turbo rx-1. Awesome power and reliability. That sled would go any where you had balls to hang on to it. I think it comes down to who you ride with. I sold my rx-1 ton and bought a s/c skidoo xp 154. Yes they have some problems. But skidoo is fixing them. My friends that I mostly ride with and my area that i ride is mostly treed and lots of boondocking. My turbo just couldn't go where we rode. At the end of the day I was so worn out and wasted I could barely drive home. I love my new sled but in a different way. I still beat my friends highmarking and boondocking i just don't humiliate them like I did with my turbo. And I can still stand up at the end of the day.

Hi Venom, my suggestion to you is do what YOU want because you are the one that will be riding the machine every day!

I have owned an 05 Summit and an 07 Summit 800R and jumped ship to Yamaha this year. My engine in my 07 grenaded and I wanted a sled with more power and reliability. So I bought an MCX Nytro and I will never look back. The balance on the Nytro is so good that it handles much easier than my rev's. I can boondock through any trees and lay the machine on its side at will and carve very tight turns. A huge improvement over the rev.

I have never had this much sledding in my life, and everyday I ride I find my self saying in my helmet at least 5 times a day "Man do I love my machine!"
That is my experience, I am very happy and who cares if the machine costs twice as much, I will own it twice as long and still have more reliability than my old machines.

Rioplay, you just nailed it on the head. You spend the money and it will outlast anyothers and most likely work out better in the end.

Mtnmatt, your comparing apples to oranges with the Rx1-ton and the Apex. Two totally different machines, its too bad you got sucked into the RX1 ,but you cant compare it to the Apex.

I wouldnt be buying anthing right now until the new sleds are out for 09. I sepecially would not get any of the crap Doo is putting on the snow today, but you can be sure that my next sled will be Yamaha.

The four stroke revolution will be sorry to lose you venom.

it is this simple nobody can tell you what you should ride if you like it go for it,as long as you are having fun on it.:beer; it dont matter what you ride to each his own

I had a rev it was a awsome sled and got rid of it for the apex and i would be a fool to say i through my apex around like the 800 doo. But the apex with a turbo is a out right savage of a machine there a rush to ride Do i regret getting rid of the doo? not a chance . I want a xp to beat on for a second sled, so what ive been doing is telling my wife that the xp is the sled she needs being light and all and would make her a better rider ect.. ya see then you got the best of both worlds and hopefully she pays for it.

I sold my XP to buy the Nytro and sure the stock Yami wont get the highmark but thats about it in my experience with it. I put 275 miles on the XP and was on my third belt and I felt like I couldn't stay in it on a hill without the belt or the driveshaft failing on me but I loved the way the machine handled. So if ya don't mind tinkering a bit then go with the XP but if you want to ride pretty much worry free then i definately recommend the Nytro! :beer;

I have both a M7 and a Tapex. In fresh deep pow the Apex handles awesome although as an "all-around" sled, I would be lying to you if I claimed it was easier to ride than the M7. The M7 is a fun nimble sled, but it does not hold a candle to pulling the trigger on a 300 hp Apex.

I've even caught myself yawning a few times while riding the M7, on the other hand the Turbo Apex is pure beautiful adrenaline. :D

every once in awhile we switch sleds for a few mins during a ride.once i get off the 150 hp sled which is more like 120 hp @ 8000ft and back on my 250hp sled the diff is unbelievable.its like getting out off a chevette into a corvette.i'd like to try an xp then decide.its hard to substitute insane power with reliability for a lighter sled.i just don't know if i would be happy.

ride what you want dude .......I have a tapex and do alot of tree bashing and booning with some chute's.....love the sled......first year wasn't sure about it due to it being heavier than the piston poppers, but wouldn't give it up for nothing now.....its all what you feel comfortable riding...it has to fit like a glove or it's not your thing man......you are the only one that can figure it out, and it sounds like you have already........
