Think I may have snapped my crankshaft.

Out last week and I got on the throttle, and I heard a SNAP POP. I just thought that I had lost a belt. Opened up my side door and the belt was fine. But my clutch was pulled out about inch and a half away from the motor. The motor starts up fine though and it only has 1500 miles on it. Anyone have any ideas what happened. I added some pics.

Easy way to tell: If you pull on the clutch does it come off the crankshaft or does the crankshaft move with it? If the crank comes with it, serious trouble inside. If the clutch moves but not the crank then the clutch bolt probably snapped.

I see the seal marks on the crankshaft the crank appears to have moved out,
But i have never seen anything like what has to break to allow the crank to come that far out and still run!

Looks like another victim of the '07 curse ... I'm guessing you have an '07 XRS by the pics? Are you saying that it still ran and got you back to the truck like that? If so ... LUCKY

by the looks of the plastic melted on the primary from the side panels it ran.
Now for only a snap noise, hmmm, would expect many more then that.

Crank broke outboard of the PTO piston.. Amazed that the thing didn't completly come apart..

Well thats the second ive seen. My nephews 05 800 rev broke like that this year as well. Every thing in the motor besides the crank is fine, and crank is broke like yours just inside the case.Out of all the years ridding ive never seen a crank brake like that??? That is clearly a flaw from ski doo imo.

Had a CAT that did that once, didn't notice a loud pop but got a really wicked clutch vibration as I crested a hill and was slowing down. you could grab the clutch and jiggle the crank end around and move it in and out a bit. Sled still ran but got a tow home so didnt' totally destroy everything.
