the world and its people are often quite wrong

Yes it is funny to look at people still trying to predict the weather isn't it. But remember climate change is a myth created by scientist to raise huge amounts of revenue for their research HeHe =). I still think the unusual weather patterns we have been seeing in the western hemisphere this year are somehow linked to the incredible high amounts of radiation that was released into the atmospher and i am sure are still being released across the big pond. I am not a scientist by any means =).
I have also heard people describe it as a yo-yo effect. When we have a huge winter like we did last year it naturally swings back just as far the other way the next. But I think when we have 70 degree weather on the 1st of January in the Reno/Tahoe area there is something else at work.

No one denies that climate changes- naturally. How many ice ages and warming spells has the earth gone through? How many species have gone extinct due to natural climate change? But scientists can be wrong, and have been. In the 1970's we were going into a cooling trend so alarming that the same climate scientists who now warn of anthropomorphic global warming were recommending we throw coal dust on the poles in order to warm them. Seriously. I am skeptical (that's the key word) that MAN is causing the climate change to a significant degree and the reason for that is that the so-called scientists behind the anthropomorphic global warming scheme falsified data and then destroyed the source data. They have been busted for this not just once but twice in just the past few years. Major red flag. Also, they changed their claim from "global warming" to "global climate change". Want to know why? Because it's not warming any more. The sea ice is so bad this year that entire towns are locked in and the Alaska King Crab fishery is threatened for the season because the boats can't move around in the ice. That's down by Dutch Harbor. People are dying in droves in Europe due to the extreme cold weather. Data has shown that the earth has been back in a cooling trend since the 1990's. So-called climate scientists have tried to cover that up. I don't deny that man has a huge impact on the planet, particularly at our increased population. But when scientists are falsifying and destroying data and there is a direct link that shows some people are profiting off of that false information, that makes me wonder what is really going on. Thus I am skeptical. If the theory of anthropomorphic climate change was truly a fact (as so many claim) then why use falsified data to prove the claim? Why does't real data prove it? Everyone should be skeptical until those questions are answered.

Quite often wrong

My money is on science NOT the collective self delusional people (the herd) who say climate change is wholly natural and that man has little or no impact.

These are the same people who complained bitterly against EPA regs on snowmobile emissions. What did that get us? Better machines, EFI, Direct Injection, computer control timing, better fuel economy, not smelling like a gas/oil fire after riding, etc.

I always think of these climate change (man-made) deniers when I am riding 45 kilometers on a clear cut valley logging road to my favourite glacier that has shrunk by one third in 10 years.

No doubt the MAN will use this climate change opportunity to screw us even harder BUT let's not delude ourselves.

PS I just got back from my annual winter riding holiday. I go in the middle of Feb because it is GUARANTEED great snow. Guess what? Low snow when I got there and it didn't snow for 13 straight days. I have not seen that in the 17 years I have rode Graystokes, Kelowna.

Science is based on observation. Look around. How has snowmobiling changed for YOU in the past 15 years?? I can't deny that things are changing. I don't need the gov't, politicians, EPA, Greenpeace, etc to tell me what I can see it with my own eyes.

Good science is based on years and years of data (and the science is relatively young still) and the data being used should remain transparent to everyone. The infamous hockey stick graph that was completely fabricated and the source data destroyed (how scientific is that?) should leave any thinking person suspicious of the climatologists in question. When they got busted a second time just one year later, one would logically have to ask what on earth they were hiding if they felt they had to make up data to support their theory. Logically, if real data existed that supports anthropomorphic global climate change, they wouldn't be making the data up. Would they?

Anyway, I can tell you aren't actually interested in this discussion but rather simply insulting anyone who doesn't agree with you. Have a nice day.

I want to apologize to drypowder for mentioning the term "climate change" and for any arguments that may ensue from here on out because of it. I am sure Drypowder was only trying to point out in a humorous way the fact that Man (in this case Christopher) has always tired to predict the weather and for the most part it has always been an "Epic FAIL!!!" when he does. I am sure that now everyone will fly right past his link and miss the initial intent (or what i believe it to be) to argue about who knows better. All scientists around the world, who fake all their data for their own political gains or the people who refuse to see forest through the trees.

Believe what you want to believe guys. That is what this free country is all about. I am just glad that everything is coming to an end this year so we can get on with our lives. Oh!!! will that be possible? carry on!!

lol good writing, you dont have to apologize but thanks anyway. I didnt take anything personal or wrong.
Also christopher didnt make the weather prediction, he just conveyed what he found.
My intention wasnt to be humorous either. I merely wanted to point out that just because a human being or beings say something surely doesnt mean it is going to happen or that its right.
I remember 12 years ago "they said eggs were bad for you" than last year i hear on fox news sunday morn from the Doctor on the show (cant remember his name) says that eggs are now good for you.
3 years ago Oil was soaring , it went up to $147 a barrel everyone thought it would never come down. Warren Buffet even bought exxon stock when oil was at $140a barrel. Than out of nowhere oil starts a fall all the way down to $37 a barrel.
However i will still continue to look at weather reports/predictions (even though it seems like when they say a lot of snow we get little and when they say a little snow we get alot) I will still look at snotel , buy the farmers almanac , and try to plan accordingly . Why because its fun ,and nowadays they can tell us after the fact what has happened .

Hey Drypowder didn't mean to put words in your mouth either HeHeHe. I was just trying to give my take on it =). You are Right!!! Statistics are a beautifull thing. You can prove of disprove anything you want by just arranging the data the way you want. That has happened to more things then just eggs. I remember a long long time ago they were saying ciggeratte helped with asthma sufferers.

Same thing happens around here. the storms they call storms of the century turn out to be light dustings and the small insignificant ones they tell us not to worry about seem to shut down the city. I think mother nature just has a good sense of humor =).

I will just go on trusting my little weather rock. If it is white, I know it is snowing. If it is wet, I know it is raining. If it is swinging from side to side, I know it is windy and so on. It seems to be right more times then not. I don't think it has ever felt cold on a sunny day before HeHe.

The scientific method is to come up with a theory, then do everything you can to prove it wrong. Question everything. If in the end if you can not prove it wrong it is probably right until new information or testing methods are developed. The climate change wackos came up with a theory then lied, falsified data, hid contradictory data and did everything in their power to prove it right.... Google the "Great Global Warming Scam" and you will see a BBC produced documentary on the whole deal.

There is way more climate change data than the infamous hockey stick. Where's the climate change deniers science? All I have heard no is doesn't exist. That's not science and not even a theory.

We have a least a century of recorded weather data. CO2 carbon deposits can be core sampled from the ice to compile further historical data. Geological data is thousands of years old.

Prior to Newton we believed in magic. It didn't stop the herd from crapping all over Newton's theories but we know them to be true today BUT then half the people in the US still think the world is approx 7,000 years old.

Question: Why are poorly paid, non respected, political scientists espousing
anthropomorphic global climate change? What is their agenda? Higher gas prices?

As they say a picture is worth a thousand words. Here are two pictures taken at roughly the same place near Apline Meadows Ski Resort near Lake Tahoe, California both appeared in the Reno Gazette Journal today. Granted one of the pictures is taken a month further into our season then the other, I dont see that as a problem in this case since I really don't see us getting over 600 inches in the next 33 days considering tomorrows forecast is calling for 64 degrees. One picture was taken on 3/28/11 (the one with the snow) and the other one was taken on 2/17/12 a month earlier in this season.

In an area that normally see's around 400 inches a year. In 2011 those same area saw a record 650 inches. In 2012 we have not even hit 100 inches and its on pace to be the driest in history which was recorded in 1977 with around 168 inches. Quite the a CHANGE AH!!! The word for today boys and girls is "Climate Change" =)

"Great Global Warming Scam"

Yeah when you google "Great Global Warming Scam" you get the BBC docudrama and a thorough rebuke of it ridiculous arguments contained in the show.

Oh well it was on the TV so it must be true

Actually its not climate change, it's called seasonal variation in climate patterns. It just so happens we had this years snow last year so as bad as it is we just have to deal with it.

May want to do a little research on the winter of 2011 for South America and that may help define our crappy pattern for 11-12. The felonious argument for climate change for our season this year is horrendous at best, and the theory is clear and dry patterns are not supported. May want to dig into the books a bit more:target:
