Highmark Boise Built the Motor, SLP Performance Package, High Compression Head, Porting, SLP Pipe, Reeds, CPI Stinger and God knows what else.

Bought it this way,

I did the Track -- and the Gears, kept ratcheting under the hammer.

Full Ported Full Clipped 166 Avid Anti Ratchets. 19/42's

Came with no Springs in the VES Valves and the hoses capped off/B]

Still have the VES Valves capped off.
I put yellow springs in ----- Sucked.

I put white Springs fair, decent idle and midrange, but in the deep snow under a full pull it would run great then back down under power as the VES valves slid back closed.

I took the Springs back out, pinned ----- hold on.
Mid range its like riding a Hodaka 100 cc dirt bike. 2 Stroke stutter.

I am going to get an SLP can and put on it ( has a stinger) to see if that will build back pressure to keep the Valves open with the White Spring in.

Anyone out they have this issue ???

Don't get me wrong it is a blast to ride if you have enough room to ride pinned.
but I bought a 2006 HO 685 IQ for my girfriend to ride ( 159 full Holtz front and back Fox Floats tuned well) it is soooo smooth to ride. :face-icon-small-con

got another question for you. Not sure if you answered this in another post or not but did you put new bellows in your exhaust valves? If not you may have some pinholes in them that you did not see preventing them from holding pressure. Also did you replace the gaskets when you had them open?

Bellows Pin Holes

Didn't replace them they "Looked Fine"

Are pin holes an issue, never had that on my 700 or 800 Edges.

I did new gaskets, I will have them off tonight again.

The SLP CAN isn't for noise it's for back pressure.

The CPI Stinger is 2 pipes wide open how much pressure can that give ?

Correct me if I am wrong but I believe it is the Back Pressure in the Cylinders the pushes the Bellows on the VES Valve's up to open them.

Why not SLP ? ( I got it cheap is that why).

I would love to do the seal Job but can't find any real solution with actual Part numbers etc. Looked thru all the Posts.

Maybe I missed something.

Guido said he had a problem with Pinholes before that were so small you could hardly see them.

I have a CPI Stinger I am thinking about getting rid of because it is loud, my valves open just fine.

need one of the experts on these valves to answer this one.

If you got it cheap then good deal. If you have to pay full price there are better more durable ones out there for less.

You could just do the pressure feed hole oversize... increase signal to the bellows.
And it is cylinder pressure that opens the valves, not exhaust back pressure. Exhaust choice shouldn't affect this.

Back Pressure

Disco Dan

Good info on the Cylinder Pressure / Exhaust Pressure.

I am going to open the holes up.

I will check the bellows, I will replace them with new ones.

My new ones get here on Friday. I figure it is easier to replace them when I do the pre-season clean than to be sitting on the side of the hill on a beautiful powder day wondering why my sled doesn't run. Yes, my season is starting late this year.
