The riding today... well didnt suck. (video)

Alright folks. Ive seen to much complaining on how the snow is not that good. Complaining is not going to make it any better, so just go out, poke around, and you will be surprised what you find. Ive got a couple hundred miles on the 2012 Freeride, and although are snowpack is low, its not as bad as one would think.

Then again, I probably shouldn't tell you this, more pow for me!

Agreed! There was some fresh yes, but the base/snowpack is absolutely horrible for this time of year.

The fact that I can still see logs, brush, and the microphones sticking up through the snow tells me it can't be over 30-35" at best.

January+35"= FAIL!

Everyday I drive to work, I pass a trailer with 2 RMK's on it. Well this morning it was more like 1.5 RMK's. The whole right side on one of em was toast and it was sitting on the bellypan on the trailer. :-(

Sad but true. Just not worth the carnage for such $hitty snow.

BTW, love the Blitzen Trapper

Like I said last week, which I admit is hard for the guys with brand new sleds sitting in the garage...My insurance is $6/month right now, I'm gone all summer so doing things on the weekends that I never get to do because of riding, and I know how much it sucks riding a sled down to the trail with one ski bungeed on the tunnel. My sled is paid for, costs me $6/month and I'm still having fun. Eventually I will need some mountain therapy but as for right now, I'm good. :D

I wouldn't own a sled worth more than $500 w/o insurance. I have killer coverage for about $8 a month, however it is not a license to ride in marginal conditions. And trails just don't do it. Sorry.

My worry is getting hurt hitting that stump or rock. So what if it tears an A arm off. I can fix that.
I can't fix my thumb being ripped off and getting tendon damage or my arm getting broken from the impact. Those kind of injuries linger, and then I can't work..not to mention ride if it ever snows again:face-icon-small-sho

Simply not worth hackin' in marginal snow. We Utahns are too spoiled:face-icon-small-con

of the little bit of the vid i watched, i was just waiting for you to instantly stop and go over the handle bars from hitting a stump or log.... i think that video confirms the terrible snow, not conflict it.

I love the music. I love your positive attitude. However, it is pretty slim out there. I did get out yesterday and found some good stuff to play in. I am not very good so it doesnt take great terrain to make me happy.

I just looked at the wind scoured areas then looked across from it and went to play in the snow loaded areas( very low angle and safe). I went to an area where i drop trees for wood so i know the areas littered with rocks and avoided them.

I had a ton of fun, but like i said a little meadow with barely anything to sidehill gets my grin on. I would not venture to far as carnage surely would ensue.

I may suck but man do i have fun!

It certainly helps to be able to ride from your house. You suck. Just saying:face-icon-small-win
