the race....the climb....

so i was riding, by myself as i usually do, and came across a small group of poo riders with one ski-doo....as we talked a bit, the guy on the 2010 dragon mentioned he had his d-8 ported, reeds, head, slp single with some good clutching, was very happy with it....cool, i said, the dragons are good sleds...he noticed i had a 2010 m-8, asked if i had done anything to it, just some clutching i replied .....would you like to race me he asked, i was curious also.......so we lined up on a good road, some powder, moderate uphill grade...dead even, until about 20 mph, then i left him to run out to about 3-4 sled lengths before we ran out of room.....decided to continue riding with them and a while later, came across a decent hill with 3 ft of powder...i sat and watched these guys beat up this hill, and finally one went over, and then another...probably 3-4 trys apiece, side-hilling at the top...i still had oil in my tank, but i decided to try it also....straight over the top, first pull....the m-8 is for real....:D

nice, i dunno if the 2010 d-8 is any better but last year during our island park trip we rode with a couple '09 d-8s and i wasnt impressed. they werent doin anything any better than the d-7s or m7s in our group.

As long as we're getting high on ourselves.......

Last year I left my climbing sled home 'cause of avy. danger. I brought my wife's new M-8 Sno-Pro. First day. I was a target for my buddies XP. He had a bad first year with belt troubles, but now he had 'er dailed and he wanted part of me. Feather ridge by Lion's Head. He actually asked a buddy to flag for us. I got the jump and affraid to glance back I kept it pinned. Thu the first row of trees and still climbing , I headed for the highest part. Not quite sure about where to go near the top , I arked arround only to see that I was alone. He hadn't even made the first tree layers. He tried many times after that, eventaily nailing a tree on that lower level.
Then a group came in with a800 Dragon and a 1000 rt and a XRS all took countless runs on the hill. I did not run them, but they never made any marks on fresh near mine.
At the bar my friend on the XP said he had to hand it to Cat. I said stick arround for 50 more miles, the chip burns out at 100. LOL.
