The last 5 or 6 elections have been one issue elections.
Whether it was IRaq, 911, Afganistan, again with Iraq, the economy, whatever. As a result of everyone picking a side based on ONE issue. It has allowed the side issues to get lost.
Whether it was illigal immigration, hospital care, job markets, whatever.
With only one issue being the deciding issue, we have gotten more and more pushed away from any middle ground. We are left with extremes on both sides and NO middle ground to stand on.
Heres an idea of what I mean.
I am for designated wilderness area, just limit them to a sensible amount.
I am for the endangered species act, just limit them to things that can be recovered with a proven plan. Not just tossed on because some wackjob said to.
I am pro-choice, except for the final trimester. If you haven't made up your mind by then, too bad, it's a kid.
Now look at the candidates.
I consider myself pretty much middle ground and mainstream.
Where do the candidates stand on the above issues?
They are pretty much on the outside of all the issues, extremes with no middle ground.
And that is the problem in washington, no middle ground and neither side is willing to give an inch to reach the middle ground.
