The pro ride side of Snowest

whatcha gonna do when the 174 flies by you.LOL

Turn right, stop and wait until there is a big wide spot for him to turn around and come back down, then turn up and head back up, then wait at the top until he finds a big wide spot to turn around at the bottom, then head down and turn left and run little harder and stop until he is just about there, then turn down, then turn left, the turn up and wait at point one with helmet on bars (you always have to give the other brand rider a chance to cool down or they don't come again).
Take their needed break, explain to them where they are and point the way to the truck so they don't get to excited and do it again lol.

Sorry I know that's mean but it's too fun and too easy. Every one always wants to show you that they can follow a Pro.
Hopefully the 174 will make it easier for them and I REALLY hope they are easier to pull out of a hole.

Well there's far more snow check threads on snowest, and snow and mud in the ski doo xm forum than the pro forum.

I totally understand that. The new Doo`s are super easy to ride when sitting. pull over the easiest on the showroom floor, have the brightest colors and might be "King of the Sunday Ride" too.

Still not my cup of tea though.

Cuz they are insecure and need constant reassurance that they are one of the cool kids? They figure that if they repeat that there are no engine problems enough times then it will be true?

Did I win?

LOL Vern, but in all seriousness I was part of the Cat forum for a long time. When they had the best out (m-sled) it was the biggest. Look at it now lol.

I have a theory lol, that the reason back then was because it was heads and tails above the rest. Even with all the stuff about clutches exploding, belts burning and DD's failing and steering post breaking and trail ride problems, and aftermarket fix's,,,, It stayed full because most of us just maintained, fixed what needed fixing and just enjoyed the package.
The larger the # of sleds, the larger the % of OMG's what should I do lol.

In your mind is there any chance that theory is maybe true today with the best sled out today??? The Polaris Pro RMK!!!

This thread is actually great proof of why.....you have roughly 30% of the posts from people owning other brands who just want to talk smack. That percentage (or higher) is the norm in any "pro section" thread involving any chance for "outsiders" to throw in their 2 cents of how crappy this sled is. Seeing how it has been around since 2011, and proven itself to be a very popular option that works very well, that continued level of interest from off-brand posters says something I suppose.

Case in point - I stop by the doo section to check things out once and awhile...occasionally throw my 2 cents in. I've owned 2 somewhat late-model doos, but I don't dedicate much time over there highlighting Doo shortcomings because....I'm just not that interested. Where as the pro section has a very dedicated following of doo and cat riders that chime in on nearly every thread discussing advantages and/or shortcomings of RMK's.....worried that people like the sled they purchased (RMK) too much, and need to be reminded of how much, in fact, it truly does suck ;)

Ya Jay. I agree. Noticed that too this year lol.

I think as reality sinks in and peeps realize their sleds true position on the mountain that the colored glasses get darker and darker and darker as the post #'s go down.
I go back to the Cat forum a lot to keep in touch with a brand I owned for a long time. I'm afraid to post lol, even if I am trying to help from some of my experiences. You know "haters will always hate" and "get off my side" lol.

So fewer sleds sold (really think this is big) and pushing out past owners leads to smaller #'s.

It's sad when you think how close us human's are to our primeval root's. It's like a once proud pack of wolves being outclassed by a new and better pack. Sooner or later with a smaller hunting area they start to feed on themselves and the pack dies.

I truly hope that never happens but it is evolution lol.

First pic...

lowmark: 2014 Cat 162. 250lb guy. WFO. Went up diagonal from the left.

highmark: 2013 Pro 156. 150lb guy. 3/4 throttle (7500 rpm) breaking in engine. Went STRAIGHT UP from the right. No sidehilling.

This pic:

The 150lb guy takes Kitty and emulates the attack from left (with a little sidehill and working it)...beats the marks from 250lb guy on the Kitty, but doesn't get over the Pro highmark.

So there ya go....the top two marks are 3/4 throttle on a 2013 Pro RMK w/ 156 track and the 3rd highest mark is a WFO mark from a Cat 162...all with the same 150 pound guy.

And, you can see that taking 100 lbs off the rider only gets the sled about of 15' (MAYBE 20') higher on the hill.

If you don't believe that...then HERE is the highmark. Set on the 156 Pro at mostly WFO. Coming in from left. STRAIGHT up the hill from the bottom. No working it and no sidehilling.

A vid of snowless Pro's sitting around under a grassy tree well in their brand new Klim stuff talking about how trouble free the last three yrs were would help Scott.

But those pics pretty much show what everyone really sees.

You got one?

No vids of that one. LOL You?

OK I'll bite. Walking down main street in Cooke last week, my buddy commented "Dang man there is a crap ton of Polaris out here." We counted em up, an yep, more PRO's than all other flavors COMBINED. Including the couple of rental fleets, we were standing right in front of the Exxon when we counted.

LOL....there is the "riding weight comparison" thread in the Yamaha section right now and they're all blown away like "omg I can't believe people who own other brands come in here just to comment on this video.....this never happens"

Then in the Cat section where people were making fun of their 2015 wannabe-racer models guys were downright PO'd...."people from other brands should stay in their own section....this is the CAT section and we buy CATS no matter how weird it is to ride around with some dude's name spackled on our sleds GTFO!"

Doo section....well, it's just weird in there. As long as they come out with a new acronym every year....they are like a puppy with a new dink. "All new SHWS-X+!!" What's that? Oh it's the new Super Hand Warmer System Xtreme + Thumb warmer. 30% lighter and 40% hotter than last years. I must have it.

So I'd say we are pretty accepting in here. Other than the pro newbs with their can/wrap/oil threads....of course.

There's always a few sensitive folks in every brand, those are the ones that make it fun to poke at them a bit. I guess I would have an outsiders opinion on the new snowcheck cats, cuz even though I'm a cat guy I think those two sleds are some ugly sobs. I always thought a little smack talkin between brands was part of the game but these days some folks just can't handle it. People seem to be to sensitive and worried about fitting nowadays, and not just in the sled world. After all we all share the same passion so pick a color and enjoy the ride and don't let folks bother ya so much.

Scott- you expect me to believe an underpowered pro highmarked a 800 h.o. Suzuki powered proclimb in a straight up hill climb? That's not possible no way no how, I claim the cat wasn't running right or there was some sandbagging or or those pics are photoshopped, it just can't happen.........................is that the response your lookin for?:)

Vern, if that is what this thread is about...then let er rip.
The alleged Kitty owner/rider does lurk here....so be careful.

HAHA

Totally agree. I come on here for information and entertainment alike lol

I thought I took a lot of **** when I rode a Arctic Cat but I think since I started riding a Polaris it's been worse mostly from skidoo guys. I like my poo all ways have a bunch of fun riding it which I think is the point in all this. O ya haters gonna hate haha
