The new Nytro blew my mind!! short track version..

I got a chance to ride the Nytro but in short track form. My neighbor calls me and says there are a bunch of guys drag racing in a field up the street from me and wanted to know who I thought would win. There was an 07 RT 1000, 06 Crossfire 7, 07 Acrtic Cat 1000 and a polaris FST.

Now im not into this kind of riding anymore, but I thought what the hell, I'll come over and check it out. I also told the guy on the phone, that I thought the rt 1000 was gonna smoke the nytro.

Well I get over there, those guys line them up and the damn nytro beat em all. over and over again. So.. of course I had to get in the mix, so I hoped on that new nytro and WOW!! that thing feels awesome and really gets down the road for as little HP it states it has. feels light as hell. I raced against the RT 1000 3 times and won each time. I swapped sleds and hopped on the RT 1000 and was beat.

I just cant belive that sled was as fast as it was. here was a RT 1000 that beat up on last years apex getting beat by the nytro.. I dont care what people say, that new Nytro is real impressive!

Every review I've read so far has said that the Nytro is crazy fast from 0-60 for a 135-140 HP sled. I can't wait to try one out.

The nytro is impressive but the 1000 you were racing must of be running on one cylinder.
I have a 153 nytro and a 162 rt 1000 05 and in three feet of snow the nytro tops out at 65 to 70 mph while on the rt I can easily see 90 plus mph.Havent raced them because it would not even be close.Rt now has 190hp.

I raced my buddies apex with the nytro 10 to 15 times switching sleds every couple races.Nytro would be even, or ahead off the line until about 55 to 60 then apex would pull ahead every time that we raced.(roughly 15lbs difference between riders)When we didthe same with apex and stock rt the rt jumps about 8 to lenghts off the line and keeps pulling on the apex until we run out of room to race 1/2 mile or so.
So like you said nytro is impressive for a 600cc class sled.

sledheadd, Im talkin about short tracks, im sure there is a big dif. in the long tracks... but thats what happened tonight on these short tracks. Made me definitly want a Nytro.

I will say another thing since that was also my first time ever seeing one. they look and feel pretty small. nothing like an apex and even felt more compact than my REV. nice sled for sure. also, it lifted the skis for about 200 ft. i like that......:D

With the low elevation factory set-up, the Nytro rips!! I changed my weights and primary spring for riding around here a couple of weeks ago (left gearing). It was like a different machine. You can't keep the skis on the ground, and as mentioned, it is VERY quick to about 60. It beat up on every sled in the neighborhood by a LONG shot!! :) Oh, I also switched the Maverick track around....huge improvement!!

However, the factory high elevation clutching is WAY off. The machine can't hardly get out of its own way in the powder on a climb. I could only pull 7800 rpms with about 32 mph track speed up the hill with 1-2' of fresh. On the trail or hard pack, it would pull 8800 (btw elevation was 8-10,000). Dustin at Outlaw is well aware of this problem and has been testing for several weeks. I'm hoping he gets a kit dialed in soon as I'm heading back west again in 2 weeks and I really don't want to go back with the stock set-up!!

Was in Cooke this weekend with a new rental Nytro ( <100 miles) and last years 700 dragon. I rented the Nytro after shelling out my crank and case on the Viper in about 10 miles.....

Drag Racing = dead even....over and over

Climbing = Dragon won

Handling = Nyto actually feels "lighter".......really it does

Getting Unstuck. You know the answer

Quality: The engineering and quality of this thing totally won me over after a day on it. It is simply a very well engineered and built machine.

....now I need to decide if I need one with boost?????

well as far as elevation goes we are about 3000 ft. and the speeds were up to around 100 mph. Could there had been something wrong with the RT 1000?????? maybe, but it felt pretty damn strong to me when I rode it, as did the Nytro. real impressive!

I rode a friend's Nytro this weekend - my 1st time on a 4-banger Yami.. and I must say, that I was impressed. Quiet, smooth, and torqey - nicely put together. You can tell the fit & finish is from a MX mfg.

I ran it up a few small hills and you definitely noticed the extra baggage right away, but just making turns in the powder really handled suprisingly well. That same Nytro is going under the knife very soon, and when it comes back there will be few sleds around here that will beat it I'm sure. Yami done good. The only oddity was the clutching - no hit - zero, zip - nada.... it's like oh..you want to go now...well...you're already moving...

It's funny how with all of the M1000's, Turbos, and other monstrosities - a well put together 800 Doo seems like a starter sled these days. LOL. Let it snow.

;-)

p.s. - I bet you could find good deals on 08 Nytro Turbos next fall. I'd consider one.
