The Most Reliable Sled

In your opinion, what's the most reliable sled?
If you compare snowmobiles to other vehicles, seems like they're always breaking down.
There are constantly posts on this forum about 'issues with my sled'. Even brand new ones.... Anyone own a sled that has no issues?

the sled with the least amount of hp that sits in the shop most of the time, it never breaks down! ha

Its the yamaha apex, those things would take a ton of hp and run forever trouble free. Stock I dont know if they would ever fail! We made 320+ hp and our belts never even blew. Chains, drive axles nothing that breaks on lots of new and older model sleds with alot less hp were ever a issue on a apex.

M7's and Mountain Max's come to mind. I've seen some electrical glitches in a few Apex's and RX1's.

1987 indy sport.. Can't get out of it's own way. No power no problems
:D

I am a fan of my Apex though.. I check the oil and put gas in it.. Will it go to the top.. Maybe.. Is it the fastest.. Nope. Is it heavy ... Yes.

Does it start everytime.. yup...

Biased opinion of course. But I have 2 phazers approaching 4000 miles that I just add oil and gas sooo... :beer;

I would have to go with the Yamaha 4 stroke. But those M8 have been bullet proof.

The old 670's I think! Know of many of them with over 10,000 miles on them, stock crank atleast. Buddy had one that made well over 150 hp, pipes, ported, etc, that sled is still running with 7,000 miles on it with the 150 tune in it(got rings last year), and another 4,000 before that.

any of the smaller lower powerd motors... the DOO 600 HO is pretty impressive for a new one, i ran one to about 5000 with no trouble, hard miles, some were rental miles... bigbore really hurt the reliability.

stock yammi 4strokes are about as good as it gets for straight reliable though.

normally yamaha..but not without exception..2 years ago a trek was made across the artic..the polaris two stroke went 7000 trouble free milles on that trip,,,the yamahas 120 hp 4stroke held everyone up for 3 weeks total for repairs..none engine related..but ever other thing under the sun

For newer 2 strokes...Edge series 700s.

Take out the sway bar, add risers and boards.
Pull and go. Change a belt every 1500 miles or so.
