Just wondering if anyone is running the "fix kit" in their turbo, or more specifically weiscos pistons in their turbos? If so what was you piston to cylinder clearance and how much boost. Thanks

Iowarmk, a member here on the forums, just installed the Fix Kit on on his Dragon 800 with a Turbo. It is running and he plans to tune it more this season.

YES>>>I did install a turbo this summer on my dragon. I am planning on running 8-10 pounds on it with pump gas. I have settings in control to a base that was recommended by manufacture. I will then adjust from there. I also would like to play a little with race gas. I know that will be a mistake but at least got to play. I hope to get some tuning done around thanksgiving if snow permits. I will post feedback once I get the rig on the snow. So far sounds good and no issues with warm up cycles.

I am running a different companies version of a fix that uses m8 pistons. Runs great!! Can't really describe the turbo as it is a home built kit on a iqr. Hope this helps

Are you setting it up for flatlands too? I've got a Switch, which is getting the hairdryer very soon, and need some baseline ideas for clutching/gearing, etc. Any help will be greatly appreciated!

I agree with knifedge, plus you can get some of those knee high spindles, those are going to be great for a laugh watching people go through the trees.
We have a lot of people running the fix kit with turbos. Several people ran the turbos last winter with 16 pounds of boost all winter long. The piston was specifically manufactured with a thick crown to absorb the high heat loads that turbos can generate. We did this because we build turbos! Oh and by the way we now have a new piston and cylinder shim for the pro-r 800!

MTNTK- enlighten us on the new piston. This would be for the 2011+ ProRMK's correct. I've heard of less failures on these but do you still feel that the shim and piston kit will overall make it more reliable? Any details on it yet? I just picked up a 2011 and am putting a turbo on it. It has a brand new motor so I might be interested in the fix kit when I rebuild for next season. Details would be awesome!

Just installed the fix ,,in an 800 pro 2011 and went as advertised ring gap was on the mony and clearance was 4 on one and 4.5 on the the mag ,,should be good to go also using the PA head and the HPS can will see when the snow flies! also weighed the pistons was some 20 grams lighter than stock

Thanks guys for the input. Kawgrn how did the stock pistons look? Did you check stock clearances? Just wondering if the pros are better set up stock?

Fueling looks spot on,,,However with about 1200 miles my skirts at the verry bottom were worn will measure and post in a few days, I think the stock pistons were rocking in the bores ,,noooooo where as bad as my IQ motor, I do feel better about this set up.we shall see!!!!!

Interesting. Hope year 2 of the pro doesn't start to have problems similar to year 2 of the iq's. I thought the tolerances were tighter on the pro. Thanks, let us know on yours.

I drilled two holes on each exhaust bridge for extra cooling/lubrication.

Yes, I went from a 2860 to a 2876 and love it. Definitely builds boost earlier and makes more power. I deleted the BOV when I did the turbo because of a cracked airbox and my on/off response was a little slower. I am attributing that to no BOV. It is going back on before it hits the snow.
