Next big break through: an auto pilot feature that uses a laser designator to keep the camera and the copter following the rider at a preset altitude for level terrain or a self-adjusting distance-to-target mode (so it can follow uphill/down hill)

they pretty much have that....just needs to come down in price to make it affordable. some of the techy guys have them so they track a person. Just doesn't do the perfect job of keeping them in the center of the frame.
