The Crazy Canadian

So i heard the Dan davidoff won the extremedy award agian, If so how in the hell can that be. He was going against Chris Brandt and Dan won. That sounds kinda fishy to me, there is no way that Dan Davidoff is better then Chris. The only reason Dan is where he is in snowmobiling is because of his mouth. I'm actually tired of people talking him up so much, the only really good footage he ever had was in DANGER ZONE 1 and it didn't even get noticed really. From the looks of all the video's out there Dave Knight would hand his *** to him any day, I bet he knows it too. Lets here what you guys think out there.

Have you ever rode with either of em? I watch either the TS movies or slednecks pretty much every morning and Say your wrong from the footage Ive seen. Brandt is amazing when it comes to tech riding his seg in S10 was incredible but when it comes to Extreme I don't think there are a handful of riders that would climb the stuff that KK did last year. The pull in T6? Need I say more.

Chirs and David are amazing. I get a lot of enjoyment watching both. They are in a league of there own.

I think the award is based on filmed riding. 2 dimensional. Unless we are there, it is difficult to understand just how amazing those moves and climbs are.

but have you seen it, and don't guys think it takes more then one pull to make a segment. In noticed that in danger zone 2 DAVE KNIGHT had a segment that was 2 songs long and a **** load of amazing pulls, but no recongized it.

have you ever seen that pull in real life, it's not crazy any stock sled would pull it no prob

Wowza, you seem pretty bitter there buddy. When you gonna post up your vids of you and your stock sled doing this stuff Dan is accomplishing?? I can't wait to see it.

first off, you need to understand what the 'extremy awards' are. they are a clever promo tool cooked up by the distribution company that buys most of the sled vids (and other motorsports vids) and sells them to your local sled shop...Imapct Video is the name of the company here in california.

the extremy awards are nothing more than a popular vote based system. if dan can get more votes than chris...he wins. there isn't some panel of 'extreme gods' that pass supreme judgement on who rips it more.

i know dan and he is a great rider and more importantly, a great guy. i've met burandt a few times, don't really know him but i think everyone knows he's a straight-shooter and one of the best riders in the sport.

i can also tell you this...for every krazy kanadian and chris burandt you see in movies, there are 100 guys that can lay it down just as good if not better, but don't have the film-guy hookup...so you never see them.

it's pointless to rip on any of these guys...if you like dan, give him a 'that-a-boy' on his award...if you don't...its probably best to keep it to yourself.

Are the thunderstruck guys the only one's that can vote.

dude...this is basic PR 101 stuff. if you can get people to rally behind someone or something...in a voting contest, like the extremy awards, you can win.

if thunderstruck does a better job of promoting its indivdual riders than slednecks does...you're going to see stuff like this.

just remember that in the 'real' world...know one really even knows what an extremy award is. its very 'inside baseball' stuff for the sled film industry and those who follow it closely.

Well...yeah!
Like me!

Wow this is truly a dumb thread, and I feel dumb already replying to it...

But...I've got to say I've never ridden with Krazy Canadian, but I've ridden with both Chris Burant, and som of the Thunderstruk guys, and they are HANDS DOWN good riders... Burandt is probalby one of the most technical riders around, but Davidoff is pretty extreme...

And...Even if you don't have a film crew around, there's no reason not to take out a video camera if you think you can do better than these guys...Don't see many guys with REALLY good chute climbs, and techical stuff, all I see is lots of internet racers and keybord jockeys...

Congrats to Davidoff....

I would'nt get to worked up about it. Neither of them are anywhere close to the best riders in the country. Not taking anything away from them, they both ride excellent in different ways.

The best riders are quietly minding there own business in some small town in Idaho or Utah or somewhere in Canada with no desire to be in the main stream of things. They ride 4 or 5 days a week waiting for their farming to start and hoping they have enough duck tape and bailing twine to keep their sleds working for another year.

well, the rider who "are quietly minding there own business in some small town in Idaho or Utah or somewhere in Canada" bla bla might be the BEST rider, but this is the Extremy awardy thingy.....

and, if any of you think YOU are better than the ones that got the awards, get a frigging camera and prove it!
if you are that good you will get a sponsored/factory ride and what could be better than that?

instead of "hoping they have enough duck tape and bailing twine to keep their sleds working for another year."

oh well, rant over ;)

I'm in the middle of filming " Extreme flying tricycle wombats ". Once it's done and submitted for an Extremy, I will mass mail everyone I know in the hutterite colony. That should be enough to get me an award. :)
