Has anybody used the aviators in real cold weather? ie. -30 celsius or colder windchills? I heard rumours they are a bit drafty but have been humming and haw'ing over getting a pair.

I tried a pair on Saturday at the Polaris 2013 demo ride.

Not kidding.

Yellow Polarized lenses.

THEY ARE UNREAL!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am ordering a pair to retrofit my frames from last year.

Holy sweet mother...

$175 wow. I tried some 509s a couple years back and the foam came unglued the 2nd ride out.

contact 509 that would be covered under their warranty...no problem

intro offer

159$ for new goggles with polarized lens and hard case (40$ savings)

or you could get replacement polarized lens for 49$ if you already have.

The Aviators are the best goggles I own. I wore 3 different pairs of goggles yesterday, and the Aviators were by far the most comfortable and best field of view. I'm liking that I can now get the polarized lenses!

I have yellow Polarized and clear Aviator lens in stock if you want to switch your lens out. I also have aviators, sinsister goggles in stock.

Still waiting for 509 to step up and make a set of clear, or VERY VERY lightly tinted yellow or blue for the dark overcast flat light days that we get so much of here. Most end up wearing a clear lens. The old Scott light blue were about the best I've used for a colored lense in those days. Love a light rose as well, but most are a touch dark and keep going back to clear.

You may lol at the idea of a clear polarized, but any of you that wear eye glasses and have had polarized clear lenses in them know exactly what I'm talking about. I think the would sell well for 509, or any other goggle maker.

It seems 509 yellow is bright yellow so I run their Rose lens in my sinisters and they are perfect for flat light, sunny, or even work when dark. My back up pair is clear.

they make clear for both the sinisters and the aviators

also a yellow tint...no mirror for both

Allright.............I just spent four days in Island Park riding in a sea of snow, wind, and whiteout conditions with my new Aviators. These things are UNBELIEVABLE! I have worn Smiths since 2002 and couldnt justify spending $100 plus for a pair of googles-boy was I wrong. The yellow tint and ploarized lenses worked perfectly in every nasty condition we encountered. Do yourself a favor, and pony up for these babies. Your eyes(not to mention arms, bulkheads, shocks, etc)will thank you:face-icon-small-winBTW, I wear a Fulmer MX helmet and the fit is perfect-airtight all the way around

I have a set of Sinister black ops right now, and I love them - but I was wondering if the Aviators can be used as OTG goggles like the sinisters. My black ops goggles fit quite well over my glasses, and the only reason I went with them over the aviators is because the FAQ for the sinisters acknowledges that they arent true OTG goggles but people with glasses do use them - and nothing was said about the aviators.

Can these be used over prescription glasses at all?

I think it comes down to your individual frame shape and size. If they fit in the sinisters...chances are they will fit in the aviators....which are larger(inside).
