Yup.

I agree. he gave me that location a couple of weeks ago when I was in the neighborhood and we had an awesome ride. some of the best pics this year. only ones on the mountain on a Saturday too!

thanks again!

Excellent snow year in Colorado, south was lacking for a while but is doing well now, well maybe not Pagosa area, they can't even groom down there. I've got 5-6 feet on the level here in my yard in Frisco and am out of snow storage room, been moving it around with a skid steer. The last couple of weeks we have seen unusually warm temps here in the northern mountains and melting going on quickly. Kremmling area looks like summer. We spent this past weekend riding the Snowies out of the Ryan Park area and it's going fast down low. Need more snow and cold if we're riding in to June. We're grooming (our local club) 18 miles of trails at Spring Creek. I groomed last Thursday and we've got mega snow up high, blew a hydraulic line on the blade trying to cut 6 foot drifts on one of the trails. Snow will go fast if it doesn't cool down, close to 50 here in Frisco today.

I wouldn't call this a "bad" snow year (especially compared to the last 2), but I definitely wouldn't call it great. While we are sitting at or above average for most of the state, the weather and duration between storms this year has really effected the snow, and the layers. Lots of places with unstable layers, buried hoar, and rotten sugar, at various levels through the pack. Just look at all the Avalanche incidents this season. Also, the storms have been coming from very odd directions compared to the normal South, or North storms we get.
Anyhow, rambling now. Glad you guys had a good ride.

More evidence to suggest good snow does exist in SoCo:face-icon-small-hap

Sunday was a bluebird day, too bad you were out of town Dave. Great ride, great snow, great scenery, great weather.

It was pretty great....
