TETON GRAVITY Bashes Snowmobiling....

sledders are the sports worst enemies. sled trucks weaving in and out of traffic, rollin coal, causing grief in the bars, riding in closed territory.... it goes on and on

until each sledder realizes they are always being watched and that they are representing the sport every time they are in public
( klim/ slednecks jackets+ hats are pretty easy to see and identify a sledder) sledding will always be a target.

maybe before jumping all over someone who was doing some creative writing, look at why these stereo types exist and start changing them.

These stereotypes exist because we are under a microscope by greenies constantly trying to put us down and negate any good we might be trying to achieve....not because the points above are indicative of the mass public and snowmobiling in whole. You could take all those things and eliminate them completely, and their stance and take on the sport would still be that we are ruining the environment and they would find something new to stereotype us by or tear us down.

Skiers and Boarders alike do the same things you just pointed out...weaving in and out of traffic in their subaru's, smoking weed in the parking lots, causing grief at sled events, skiing closed territory....

You can say those things are all generalized and stereotypical and I would agree with you, but they are not as chastised because snowmobilers alike do not publish articles and "creative writing" like was done so last week. Once again, it speaks very highly that the article was not just creative writing to see TGR take a stand and remove the article and release a public apology. Just our opinions though, everybody has their own!

Pano.... are you saying you had no issue with the article, that it is ok to 'create' a fictional account of an event to paint snowmobilers is a bad light?

If so, I guess you will just sit back on your easy chair bitching about the streotypes when they develop Jumbo and ban sleds for 100 sq k's, then blame the out of towners?

We ALL need to act responsible, and part of that is letting your balls drop and let your actions speak, and yes, when it is needed, say something to those who are acting like douchebags, because we are under the microscope from well educated and well funded opposition....

What a donkey! Just complete ignorance! He clearly has no clue about snowmobiling, the Jackson Hole area, or the state of Wyoming. He also wasn't professional enough to do the research necessary to write a piece regarding all of the above topics. No accountability at any level at all. I guess we all shouldn't be surprised, welcome to 2014 where you do not have to stand for any of your actions, you can just hide behind your computer or phone. He must've forgot also how many western skiers and snowboarders, including TGR themselves, rely on snowmobiles to access the backcountry. Pathetic.

The fact that they produced and edit for an attemt to say, we did not mean anything by the article. To removing the article, speaks and echos volumes!!!! The sad thing is, these yuppie types do think like this. Just strike up a conversation with a ski bum, you will find out fast how most of them feel. (just to be clear, I have skied since I was 3 years old.) Everything he wrote, yes may be true. Yur damn right!!! But the sled community does not try to close areas off so only we can use them. We do not try to close roads so only we can use them. The sled community is all about multi use, and is not so narrow minded the we need it all to ourselves even though we will never utalize but only 10% of what we lock up!!
I had this conversation with two sled film industry big names, and we believe that TG uses sleds alot to access areas to backcountry ski. So ? any way!! We know what we are, and we know what they are!! have a nice day!!
