Temp Sensor Issue?

My temp sensor light has been flashing at me the last few days yet I'm riding 3 feet of powder? I checked a few times with my laser light last ride and the temps are around 130-150 if I point it at the head so I've just been ignoring it. I know I have plenty of coolant and the engine is cooling properly. I'm also getting a wrench display and it's flashing ECU CODE 1? Is my temp sensor bad...is anyone else having issues with this?

It is somewhat periotic...and it seems to be flashing mostly when I'm playing in deep powder, When I hit a packed trail and I'm going fast it seems to go away?

Mine(2009 M8 HCR) was flashing code 1 and 17 and was told the temp sensor was bad so I bought one and when I installed it discovered broken wires on the backside of the connecting plug. I soldered the wires and haven't had any codes since.
