I haven't had too much trouble with temps, but what can definitely screw you is a tight trail where you can't maintain speed. That being said the worst I have got up to is 180 and then I stopped and dropped the scratchers and it stayed at 165 or so on a slow, hard packed trail at that point.
I notice my Hyfax getting hot though at times when the engine temp isn't coming up. I ride with other mountain sleds who don't have trouble. Not sure if it's because the Comp Track holding the Hyfax up more or what. Either way with the scratchers down it cures the problem...I just wonder how long before I end up getting screwed on a ride if I break/rip off a scratcher. They do seem pretty tough so far though.
