Tekvest or B Wear

I do wear a pack, so this will be factor. The guys who had troubles with the pack falling off the B-Wear, do your packs have the chest and waiste straps across the front?
Thanks everyone

I wear a B-wear with a True North Ligthning pack. Had no problems with the combo. I do however NOT wear shoulder pads on the vest.

You need to use the vest more than 2 times. It feels strange in the beginning, but once you 'wear it in', it's 1gazillion times better than any tekvest I've ever tried....

tha'ts the nice thing about hte tek shoulder pads... doesn't interfere or change how the vest fits with a pack.

I'd try both on, see which one fits better. Tekvests are relatively easy to find out here, i know a few sled shops sell the freestyle; once you know size/etc look online for good deals

I wore it twice on the sled. Wore it lots more around the house trying to get used to it. I wasn't going to tolerate the feeling of not being able to draw a full breath while riding.

And before anyone else mentions it, I tried to change all the adjustments to make it fit better.

It might work for you but it didn't work for me, just putting it out there for people to take it for what it is.

I wasn't trying to say you didn't know what you were doing with the vest Sup. Just staiting the fact that it feels kinda weird in the beginning. It did for me atleast :beer;:)

Mule: I've never wore shoulder pads, so can't say if the B-wear will interfere or not. I do not like soulder pads for my riding style and body, so I just take them of anything they are in...

Vests isn't really a big investment, but you SHOULD try both on to se what you like. Seems like there's some 50/50 on what people like.

Like I said, I like the B-wear alot more than the TekVest.

Got the B-Wear. After a few rides you don't even know you have it on. And after you get used to it you won't ride without it.
B-Wear - Tek Vest are both good, just go with what you think is better or who the better dealer might be.
Talk to F-bomb on here if you go with the B-Wear, great guy to deal with.

I would say the Tek Vest is more comfortable but my B-Wear feels like it's made of Kevlar. When and if I take a chest death hit, I'll be in my Bumble Bee Kevlar bullet proof vest.

yes it is.

I ride with a sixsixone full armour, I use it in summer as well with my dirt bike.
and knee pads,

I see that some guys ride with something similar to this as well. it looks to be less bulky, but does it protect you like the tek vest?

Pick me for the Klim tec vest. I picked one up at the snow show last year after going back and forth all day long trying both on. The decision for me came when I tried to bend and twist at the same time. The Bware vest was too stiff for me and the Klim just fit my body better I guess. I never ride with out the vest or a pack and won't either.

I used B-wear last winter for 65 to 75 days of riding with a large very heavy REI pack that weighs about as much as an XP with zero problems once you get used to it. I'm not a skinny guy and could breath fine and had no rubs. Obvously your beacon goes on the out side of your vest for comfort.

Has anyone used the large ABS with B-wear? I'm going to get a couple of ABS packs next year and am wondering about fit?

Tek Vest

I wore the B-wear for the first part of the season, dozen rides or so and usually ended up strapping the thing to the back of my pack by the end of the day. I didn't have trouble with my pack not fitting right (I had a TNA pack) It was restricting... Got used to it But It rubbed huge sores on my shoulders and underarms. Not cool... Gave it lotsa chances... No dice. Last part of the season bought a klim tek vest and love it lots of ROM no rubbing, never know it is there, works great with my pack (which is now an HMK pack). But I will agree I sweat up a storm with this one. Kinda nice don't have to wear so many layers. :beer;

Have been wearing the B-wear for two seasons now. The entire first season I was wishing it would loosen up. I did not have any trouble with my klim pack but the vest just felt restrictive. This year was completely different, the vest finally felt "broken in". I liked the vest the first season and now love the vest. Like everyone else has said "won't ride without it". It is interesting that folks who have tried both the tekvest and the B-wear say the Tekvest is hotter? Not that it is a complaint but I find the B-wear way hot! On the coldest of days I only wear an underarmor shirt and my Klim coat and usually open the vents on the coat before the day is over.
