Tear down for new Pistons-how far is far enough?

Ware's all the experts now?

Reverse is kicking in when I hit the button, I have high and low beam, hand warmers are working, the sled runs. I simply have no working display after replacing my top end , between yesterday and last night we have a foot and a half of fresh powder on the ground in town.
It would be nice if this sled could join the fleet, after the swapping out the top end I would not have guessed I would end up with no working display.
Again this is a 2012 pro rmk800,

I have a manual and a torque wrench and a bull**** filter this peaceofwork project will turn out just fine even with out any condescending comments.

Very good chance it's your "bull**** filter". I have a feeling this filter causes you lots of issues, no matter what you are doing. Cheers.

Lol, I thought your friends attitude and comments sucked, they and you know nothing of my skills and experience and I was simply asking for a hint on ware the separation point would be between the fuel system and the cylinders. Maybe an answer like ( one bolt top side of each injector and slip them out) would be the charmer instead of some verbal diarrhea.
I'm not familiar with a pro 800 so I ask questions, believe it or not help is why some of us come here- good day sir!

Someone once gave me some great advice. "Dont P.O. the waitress before you get your food."

That said, and all the enjoyment of watching someone eat crow aside, if it is electrical and worked before you tore it apart, but doesn't now, you have an electrical connection that is hooked up wrong or missing. First place i would look is ground wires...those are easy to disconnect while pulling bolts off. You may have forgotten one. You might even consider getting a multimeter along with that torque wrench and checking for open shorts. Are you my friend now too?

dont look here any more and it will not bother you any more, i am the one paying for my playing and it will all work out fine ..... no big deal .

I could help ya... But I wont, after your comments in this thread.

Hope you burn up the ECM next!

Good luck!!!!

Eric

No problem call it like you see it guys, I do .
Any new site I visit there is a few helpful and a few not so helpful members, it's your call if you want to tell some one that is asking for advice or information stop now your wrecking it / personally i would kick in and offer information about what to watch out for if I knew the answers not get in a snit because a guy called fuel injection stuff crap and did not use the components proper name.

I've rebuilt 2 stroke engine's but never a sled engine. Just because I didn't know how the airbox came off/on doesn't mean I didn't know what I was doing when it came to the actual engine rebuild. There are unique aspects to every sled/engine that only come from experience and learning from others.

I agree, these forums are supposed to be for folks to help each other but the negativity can be frustrating.

OP, good luck on your build and don't let the donkey-holes get you down.
Minor delays nothing serious in the big picture

Don't let the bastard arsewholes get your down. I'm sure folks are saying I should have had a dealer rebuild my engine because my voltage regulator failed 8 hours post-rebuild....just an unfortunate coincidence on a part that has a history of weakness.

Pull apart your connectors and check for bent/mangled or missing pins. Add some additional grounding between the engine and chassis.

Check your DC voltage at idle and at higher RPMS to rule out a bad voltage regulator.

Your harness should allow you to power up the MFD...apply DC to that harness plug to rule a bad MFD.

Good luck!

BTW, other websites seem to have more helpful members regarding technical issues. SW, in my opinion, now ranks on the lower end of the spectrum for technical assistance though SW's archives do have a ton of great info particularly from contributors such as Mountainhorse.

wow just wow

the guy need helps to do works and he gets that sort of answer?
if you don'T want to help just don't reply ffs

some people here need to chill or just delete their account if they don't want to help. Isn't what purpose a forum like this exist, to share your knowledge and learn from others?

I've been on BMW forums for year and never i've seen that sort of attitude. There is something special about the typical atv/sled enthusiast, i don't know what it is but it certainly is not healthy.

anyway i don't want to hijack the thread, OP i wish i could help you but i know even less than you about that. While i thought browsing this forum would help me build knowledge apparently i was wrong....

lol
call it as you see it, i think i read on site rules you cant call them dickheads or other names, and personal attacks wont be tolerated and bla bla bla suspension from the site?

Crow dinner

I got it now, just had it out for maybe a couple hrs running around town no issues like heat or miss firing, detonation.
I take this opportunity to thank all the genuine helpful folks here. as for the hecklers, maybe the site could start a chat room for ya all so your not bothering productive members with your self imposed importance ( may I suggest they call it dickheads and hecklers at large)
Over all anyone thinking of doing their own top end study it up and get at it ,take a few pics for referance and ask lots of questions.

Can you please post what was wrong with your electrical issue. I'm looking into possibly buying a pro and just reading up on them as much as possible.
