Dealer says tss-04 secondary is shot and will have to wait 3 weeks or so before he can get one. Can get tied clutch in 2 days but will cost another $200 Is it worth the $200?

Lent my sled out to a friend, 20" heavy snow, clutch stuck open twice during his ride. Took it to dealer who is a friend, said it was toast!

I have one I will sell you, it has maybe five rides on it. It doesn't have a helix though you would need your old one.

Tied clutch

I have a tied clutch I'll sell you it has the spring and helix for the pro all ready to go, I'll make you a deal on if interested pm me or call 435-979-1189

There's a reason so many people are selling their Team Tied, including me. It just wasn't worth the extra money. It had a better, smoother back shift but I never felt I gained anything else.

I'll just take the clutch off my 08 switch back for the rest of the season and buy a used one when I find a good deal. Thanks for the info.

I have heard it can be light years better, just not with the setup Team recommends / markets for the PRO. But I have not actually bought the helix / spring to get that improvement yet. Too many other distractions lately. For what it is worth.

I won't go back to a twist type secondary. The rougher or more changing the ground you have to run the greater the Tied's advantage IMO.

Worth the money? That`s a VERY personal question lol. Couple of helix's and a couple of springs and your very personal answer can change very quickly.

I agree with LH (and others it looks like). Initial recommended setup did not make it shine.

I ran a TIED back to back with a Carl's clutch setup tss04 in the mountains on my pro, the tied had the upper hand. I haven't played around with helix/spring combos much but I will be keeping the tied for sure.

I bought my pro used with the tied on it already.
I ran a tied for two years and went thru 7 belts.
In the same time my brother bought one belt with a dialed tss04
I had two different "good" setups bought from known clutching tuners, and everytime the tied built more heat and got spanked by the tss04.
Finally i copied my brothers setup and have been whipping my sled with not even a string pulling in 6 rides.
Best i ever got with the tied was 2.

Yesterday i pulled a dead sled out of the backcountry with my sled including three decent climbs and it held solid 82-8400 rpm creeping over the top of each hill.
Like 2 min. Wot
Got to the truck and i could put my hand on each clutch for a second or so.
The tied would cook eggs anytime i opened the panel.

My experience.

Maybe we could add combos' tried (helix, spring and STYLE of weight) that were NOT liked with the Tied lol.
This shouldn't be viewed as a reflection on the individual components just the combo.

I'll start. Tied with 73/ 57-59/ .46, 140 /240 (rd/blk) with MTX or MDS weights.

Geo, what did you like? I am running 73-55-.46 red/black with dalton adj. vs the mtx and find it works decent. Better than the Carl's setup.

Since there are always so many variables when it comes to the many clutching threads (tracks, gearing, HP, rider style, total weight, etc lol.) I thought why not try something different.
KISS and list a simple combo you didn`t like or were simply un-impressed with. No need for reasons why IMO. Again, it`s not a bash on the pieces because combo is always more important.

For instance, you liked Dalton and Tied, so you can`t post lol,,,yet. If the thread stays alive maybe a pattern will show up on combo or Tied set-up that seemed to be generally un-impressive. Maybe not.
It may evolve in what you did like for some later. It may not lol. Just a gathering of simple information would be nice.

The stock Pro has a very good set-up (we`re lucky). Many very good aftermarket combo`s out there too. When you get to reasons why you use what you use when it comes to clutching it gets very subjective IMO let alone confusing sometimes.

So,,, I didn`t like the above combo. Un-impressed generally.

Ya I understand what you mean. I have never ridden with a stock secondary setup, only Carl's and the tied. Same track speed for both but the tied was more responsive on/off throttle and seems to accelerate better/pull harder quicker.

I bought the whole Tied package from Team. Who betting in my mind to buy it from? They claimed an awesome mountain setup a couple years ago here in the Pro section. I'm not a guy who's going to try 20 different helix and spring combos. I don't mind trying a couple but I want to buy a setup that is at least close to my conditions. Perhaps I'm not the right person for the Tied. By the way, I didn't say it failed at all, just didn't excel to justify $400.

Same as you first. With mtx.
Indydans setup second. With mtx
Tss04 60-40-.40 with stock spring and mtx.
3-5 mph trackspeed gain from best tied setup.
