Team Tied on Pro RMK

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I have a 2012 Polaris 800 Pro RMK 163. I purchased a Team Tied Driven Clutch. What is recommended for a spring and helix for that machine. I ride between the altitudes of 3000 - 6000 feet. I hillclimb and cross country tree ride, very little trails and logging roads. Sled is geared 19-42 with everything else stock except for intake. Any suggestions or ideas?

Have team tied with pipe can and controller, 75 helix with 10 66 ( could be 64 dont remmeber ) primary and 1942 gearing on a 163. Guess will see how it works, recommendations came from Team Ind set up by Pierres. Burrant boards installed new fuel filter, cleaned power valves pull rope and will see.

Tied for Pro

Team recommends 73 57 .46/73 59 .46 helix with 140/220 Blk Grn spring, 66 gram weights in drive clutch, stock 140/330 drive spring. It is best to find a gram scale and balance all of the weights to match the mass of the lighest one. Remove material from the sides of the weights from the point at which the roller contacts it at rest to the tip. Install the helix in the 73/59 position first. With the sled fully warmed up, check your RPM on a flat field or road and then on a fairly long hill if these conditions are available. If you are pulling the same RPM or less RPM on the hill than the flat, change the helix to the 73/57 setting and test again. You want the sled to rev at least 100 RPM higher under a heavy load in the powder than on flat hardpack for best performance. Once you find the correct driven setting, it may be necessary to make slight changes to the drive weight mass to get the engine spinning 8100-8150 on a level, packed surface.

Bossman, you sure on that spring? I looked back to when TEAM was selling those kits for the 155 and 163 last year or the year before and they stated the red/black 140/240 spring. I can't remember for sure but I even thought they wanted the 73/57 for the 155 and the 71/57 for the 163. I will check it out and repost...or add to this one.

Just TTT the original post but here is the link http://www.snowestonline.com/forum/showthread.php?t=242556&highlight=team+tied

I was right. Team recommends the red/black 140/240 spring....sure was hoping so since that is what I put in mine a few weeks ago.

Scud-doo, the Team link you are referring to is the setup for 6000-9000 ft. I got my info from the Team recommendations in the clutching section of our Western Power Sports snow catalog. Not saying the additional 20# of pressure at full shift wouldn't be better, just going by Team's info.

75

the 73 is for 6-9000 ft 155" track. Team told me/I went with the 75/57.46 for 4-7000ft. I have yet to try it but it looks good on paper. i believe the spring is black/red.

I've been running my Team Tied for half of last year; red/black came with my clutch. Works Great!!

See, that confuses my clutching knowledge. I was always told to run one secondary setup and change weights for elevations. Not helix and spring. Oh well, I have the next helix up (75 starting) from when I ran the SLP stage III kit on my 11. I just hope it works.
