1100T Turbonetics & aftermarket can 270hp+-
162 3" 7 tooth-- DEEEEP snow/ steep, ( I forgot to add- 0 - 6000' elevation is where we play at)Well we're getting close.
Been dropping helix angles and now our temps are getting closer to normal.
Previous best setup was running 150* on the drive and 100* on the driven.
( This was with 120X220 spring).
Based on the direction it's been going I put a little lower finish for a driven spring and should know if the driven was "holding up" the drive, as if there's not enough weight in the drive. I want to end up with the clutches matched a little closer.Like 140* to 150* in the drive and 120* to 130* in the driven or closer.
Running 85grms. with stock spring in the drive
55* helix 120X200 spring.
8,700 rpm. Customer reports it really pulls.
We'll see tonight

Some great data there. I know what you are going thru:face-icon-small-dis

I started doing bracing and chain upgrading a while ago. Too much movement for sure, and it just gets worse the farther you get away from stock.

I know many boosted up are running 90-94 gram weights. Is that a big part of our issue? Do we need to be running less gram weight? Lower finish rate for the primary clutch spring?

Drive weight

Typically I look for the helix in choice of driven, that will provide the adequate belt squeeze for the load----. On the one end we have the track size etc., sled / rider weight. conditions.
On the other end we have the engine output. The belt is caught in the middle.
More weight ALWAYS equals more shift force. No matter what you do tuning wise, spring, ramp / arm angles, weight always = shift force.

Sooooo, I try to get by with as little weight possible, only enough to match the driven.
Poor old belt is being pulled on unmercifully by the big hp / big track scenario.
I don't pull on it any more than necessary.
In the mountains in deep heavy snow, long pulls, big hp, belt doesn't need any more pull than absolutely necessary.
HEAT HEAT HEAT HEAT ------BOOM !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Short heat cycles / racing less distance a person can get away with more.
Funny thing about huge weight in the drive. It ALWAYS feels like it's pulling harder, seat of the pants. But against a rabbit,(another sled for testing), most times a lighter set up will be faster, if it's matched----------
The real problem I'm seeing with these 1100T's is alignment issues. I don't care how good of a tuner you are, if the friggin clutches won't stay put, you're wasting your time-------
