Team Rooster Weights or MDS

Just got my PAR Head in the mail and waiting on my Mountain Tech “The Fix” Kit, looking for clutching suggestions on adjustable weights. Looking to improve my clutching now.

I don’t ride one area all year, so adjustable weights seem to make sense.

Anyone have any experience with MDS or Team Rooster Weights?

Whatttt??? adjustable weights? i like that idea...Like the clickers on a skidoo? is it the same concept? how do they work?
I just carry different gram weights all over with me :(

Basically the comcept is the same as Heal Clicker, Yes. The cut is what makes those 2 stand out or so I've heard.

The info that I recieved from THE clutch tuning guru "EPHRATA FARMER"....hands down....MDS weights. Since forum member Ron no longer sells his weights, this is the route I will be going this year.

JUst adding my 2 cents..

Run Belly Busters! Buy them for each place ya ride!

If ya lose a allen screw or you have one back out.. Can cause LOTS of Damage!

Have run MTX, MDS, Rooster, 10-.....they can ALL work good (or bad), depending on the rest of your setup. If you want to just change weights, the MDS are ther way to go since the profile was designed around stock springs and helix....they are much snappier at low speeds than 10- profile.

I run polaris 11 series weights now. works way better than 10 series. and are cheep. Mutch better throttle response. If i where going to change them i would go for mds.

My buddy Powder Buster runs the mds weights in his pro and I run belly busters and mtx so I have had some descent comparisons. It seemed like the couple times we compared that he would get 1-2 mph faster track speed going up a hill then I would, but he also has a trimmed track and I don't which would account for some of that.
His definitely pulled a little harder I think, but was a little more sluggish when it came to throttle response in the midrange. I think that is due to the aggressive curvature of the mds weight loading the motor harder. I think if he adds a PA or RKT head this summer, which I'm pretty sure he will, it will get that snappiness back in the midrange and the mds weights will work really well.
I was also impressed with how well the mds weights worked over a wide range of elevation. When we went to Laramie this year, my mtx setup that I use in the Big Horns was a little heavy and I wasn't quite pulling the rpms that I wanted. But he was still pulling 8-8100 with his mds weights without changing anything.
I will probably be stubborn for a little longer because I hate the thought of paying over $200 for a set of weights when I can but a set of belly busters for half the cost, but if he starts beating me I might have to give in.:face-icon-small-ton Honestly I don't think you can go wrong with any of the weights, just make sure you talk to someone who knows what setup you need. Carls cycle for belly busters, SLP for mtx and the guy who makes the mds will give you a good setup for your elevation.

Steve has a great product in his MDS weights, they pull hard out of the hole. As Brew stated they work great with stock set up. Even a little more gain if ya play a little bit with your clutch springs.
