Tampico abondoned sled recovery

So as some of you may know, there has been an old sled that was abandoned early season at Tampico. Today while up there for a ride we managed to dig it out of its icy grave and actually get it to fire up! It's got issues for sure and won't move under its own power enough to get it up the hill (guessing the reason it was abandoned). Does anyone know who this thing belongs to? A mission to recover it from the mtns is being planned as we obviously don't want to see it left there and the snow is quickly melting (down to about 3 ft actually). Anyone know who's sled it is? I've got the license number and will contact the sheriff if nobody comes forward with proof to claim it. It hasn't been registered since 2012 so I'm wondering if it's been stolen or just neglected???

The sled has been taken to the Yakima County Sheriff's Office. If anybody knows the rightful owner of it, that's where they can go to get it.

800 triple, give ur ultra a good run!

Primary is screwed up. Won't move the sled. Winched it up the hill with the Yota.

indeed! too bad we wont get to see..

How was the snow wheeling up? might have to come down and leave some more ruts sometime!

A few more pics from the recovery! We first attempted to get the sled to assist with the tow, but it won't put any power to the ground at all, all it would do is make noise!

By the time we managed to get it on the winch line, the sun had softened the snow substantially! This was the third and final reset for the rigging. When we started, we had 12 recovery straps hooked together on the end of the 120ft of winch line. We figured we winched close to 400ft.

Good JOB!

We finally managed to get the thing out the top tho after a good fight. It towed back to the truck behind my pro quite nicely after all that!

Thanks for taking the effort to remove the sled! Kuddos to you!

Looks like there is enough snow to go bag around up there too. I may just have to do that...
