Tampico 2014-2015 #3

did anyone make it up towards tree phones today. Troy and I are thinking about making the trek over for a Sunday ride on 4/12. I know areas are getting snow but they are kind of random spots on the satellite images. Any info would be great.
The closest snotel sites are green lake and pigtail. Darland gets similar snowfall to pigtail peak even though Darland is over 1,000 ft higher, green lake snotel if it shows new snow, u can double that amount and it will be close to Darland.
Greenlake had 3in this am and pigtail had 7in this am.

snow made it down to the ranger station however, it was only trace amounts.
U will be unloading higher than u did last time. South of treephones has a lot of dirt exposed on the road to the top. It melted 3-4in of snow below 6,000ft

As of late Sunday afternoon the 12th you could park at Eagles nest with a trailer. We had turned around and parked about 100 yards before the nest in the A.M. on compact snow, when we left it was MUD!

We did have a good ride on the fresh stuff while it lasted:becky:

it was good while it lasted!

Thinking about getting one last ride in tomorrow. Has anyone been up the past few days? Supposed to get real warm as of tomorrow so this could be it for me.

Take some shorts and a tank top.
Oh... don't forget the sunscreen.

Went up Saturday and had a good time, the snow softened up nicely in the afternoon.
I put the Assault track back on the 700 Friday night since I knew it would just eat it up like none other!
So much fun I just couldn't stop.:face-icon-small-sho:face-icon-small-hap
I've got some pics, but I haven't downloaded them yet.

Here's some more from yesterday's ride... pretty dang fun day actually, beautiful blue skies and warm... actually HOT I should say 53*F at Eagles nest at 3:45pm. It's gonna melt quick at this rate.

Those pics and vids Look like they are from June.
I see Ethan has the 900 back together. That is good.

Yup, we're at least a month ahead of schedule on the snow melt. I am predicting about 3 more weeks of riding +/- and she'll be done. Just about 4 ft on the post.

No, that's his other 900... he did get the parts all ordered to get the other one up and running though.
