Martin really wanted to say something after the race but held his tounge. What is it going to take for NASCAR to pull their head out of thier butt? A driver to be killed? Or worse yet a fan. Restrictor plate racing sucks!!!!!!!! Especially at Dega. Maybe all the drivers ought to boycott them. The wrecks are great to watch but like Newman said if that is what you come to the race for then you don't belong here.

I must be in the minority. I look forward to the plate races. If only because those 4 races are still races that most any car has a shot at winning, not just a hendrick, shr, gibbs, or roush car. The racing is usually pretty competitive, not just somebody getting out front and leading 3/4 of the race. This one sucked because of the no bump drafting rule. And as far as the danger element, if the drivers don't like it they should boycott or shut up.
I don't remember this much whining in the 90's with guys like Earnhardt Sr., Terry Labonte, and Rusty Wallace. All this whining about "OMG, WE'RE GONNA KILL SOMEBODY AT TALLADEGA!!!!" is great lip service for the cameras, but when the rubber meets the road not one of those guys would let off and give up a position if it prevented a wreck on the last lap.

I didn't get to watch much of the race but listened to most of it on Sirius. My brother called me afterward and said he's watched his last Nascar race this year. I'm in the same boat. Martinsville sucked and this was worse.
sad thing is if they bring back the old days the same man will always win...JJ.....why you ask because he has one of if not the best TEAM and hes a pretty good driver....plus it doesnt hurt to have HENDRICK and GORDON funding you.....
who has the most $$$$ won back in the old days....better motor and equipment......some will be driving 245mph on others 200mph....thats a big gap....nad then you miss the big one......

Whatever the problem is, NASCAR is really starting to suck! I can't even stand to watch anything but about the last 10 to 20 laps. Maybe they ought to go to features and a main as in dirt track racing. Run 20 lap features of say 10 to 15 cars. Let everyone who brings a car, race, and then do a 50 lap main of say 20 cars and see what happens then. Till Nascar changes something I am no more much of a fan.
Forgot to add JJ just riding around at the back of the pack all day was B.S. I would not want to win a championship by being afraid to race the way a driver like him should race. What a COWARD!

I'm no Johnson fan, but come on... He did the smartest thing he could. Why risk your championship chances getting tangled up in someone else's mistake? Don't hate the player, hate the game.
I do like the heat race idea though...
I have been thinkin that for years , they do that is more raceing than dirt car though, like when When my Dad used to race around here and We would go watch the Big Boys Race, sort a say like the Northwest Tour races or a Super Stock races around the Northwest here, you have
Time Trials
Fast Trophy Dash
Slow Trophy Dash
A and B Heat races, could be more
Main Event.
Of course we didn`t have crew chiefs and car owners, etc...
and did this every weekend all over the northwest. and we only ran one car.
anyway that type of set-up would be cool.
Lets see JJ try to hang in the back of the pack on a Main Event like the good ole races, He would end up gettin Lapped, over and over.
Race like a Champion you are, don`t hang back.
