Taking a spring off ski doo XP shock??? help!

I'm trying to take the spring off my shock for paint. I've got the bottom bolt out but can't figure out how to get the spring out of the little "cup" at the bottom.....

HELP!

Don't they still have a slotted cup?

loosen the tension on the spring as much as you can. Then collapse the spring.Their is a cup inside the main cup. line the two lines up and slide them off.
you can use a tie down or some thing to hold the spring compressed. I just put the shock on the ground, pushed down on the spring, and removed the cups by hand.
