T-Motion/E-Motion on Pro RMK?

http://www.shoptomssnowmobile.com

They have been working on kits for the Polaris and Cat sleds. I think some are already on the mountain for testing...to be released for next season.

Smooth fluid transition into a sidehill with less rider input equals less rider fatigue and longer peak riding enjoyment.

To what end? To enable the Pro to go on it's side more easily? Sorry, but my opinion is that it's already there. The Pro doesn't need to be more tippy, it's the master of side hilling.

I have had every year of pro so I know what you are saying but how could anyone turn down easier? As long as it wasn't squirrelly it would be the bomb. In the right snow the xm is effortless. The pro doesn't take much effort but the xm is easier in certain snow. That equates into more energy and more fun throughout the day to me.

Do you find the XM taking more effort than the pro in any type of condition? Just curious.

To me after riding the XM for quite a while, it to me is like riding an Exercise Ball. Super easy to lay over, but it has no edge and it doesn't give me the confidence in the tight trees the way my sled does. Different strokes for different folks. Good sled, but I will be snowchecking another pro. The Etec motor is legit though!

T-Motion= training wheels for folks who do not know how to side hill!
The point of sidehilling is to be on edge not lean into the hill like a lazy mule, it is only effective on moderate to easy sidehills, it is completly useless on extreme terrain..

So I rode the 2014 PRO and the 2013 Skidoo a week or so ago on the same day in the same places in the same snow conditions and I took them both on the same lines time and time again. BTW the snow was icy in the morning and softened up later in the day. Spring riding for sure. Snow was ok on certain slopes in the pines where it wasnt completly sunbaked.

Now I have an 11 PRO so I was used to how it handled so I might be a little biased. (I did have a REV 800 for 8 years and loved it but now can't stand that sled) However, what I found was that I could hold a sidehill in any of the snow conditions throughout the day much easier on the PRO than I could with the Doo. The Doo kept wanting to either lay the skis back flat or go over too far. It was much harder finding that sweet balance point that the PRO has. PS I tipped the Doo over and fell off the sled 3 times because of this no go balance point. My buddy that has been riding my back up sled (04 REV 800) and absoultly loved the PRO and HATED!!! the Doo. We both snowchecked new PROs today.

I say let the Doo guys keep there crappy T-motion sleds and keep the real sleds without the gimicks to the "PRO" riders.

Absolutely 0 desire for the T-Motion

Feels to me that it just creates an extremely unstable ride. I don't feel any "locking" into a sidehill like I do on my pro. T-motion wants to bounce and wiggle all over the place

I know right...who would want to ride a sled with a band aid fix?

:face-icon-small-dis

It is a band aid fix. They couldn't figure out how to redo their chassis to compete, so they put in this goofy hinge arrangement. Silly stuff when you can't compete. If I was a brand loyalist and at this time I wanted to show my loyalty to Skidoo, I would see what I wanted to see with this attempt at competing with the PRO. It’s not a bad sled, but it IS a band aid.

sorry I deleted my post and will excuse myself

For the OP

Info posted about what you were looking for.

Enjoy the rest of the season.....we are on blizzard alert here.

I have ridden both the XM and the 2013 Pro, Same day, many days, in the same conditions. The XM feels like It has a teeter totter effect, and would not hold the line as easily as the PRO. Seemed like you needed to correct the position of the sled more often on any particular line. It may make the XM come over easier, but the PRO is still far more predictable than the XM IMO. With less correcting, I am using less effort and energy, and maybe it is such a small scale, but I still think the Pro takes less effort to ride overall.

I think that it would be a waste of time to use this system on the PRO chassis and money could be better spent where it needs it.

i just rode a 2013 pro and was very impressed with its stability in all situations. i could feel the weight difference right off. the xm has a different feel in side hills i would point at the wider track for.... polaris just needs a motor that can put out 165 hp and not blow up. 2 different monsters, but i still like the wider track and more motor...

Might be a good idea for the ladies that ride, both with testes and those without.

Easier is better, for sure, but talk about unnecessary.

What you need to figure out is how to put a pro chassis on the Skidouche not vice versa....Hell, Skidoo hasn't put out a decent mountain sled since the 2006 Rev.
T-Motion a success?....Hmmm. If Skidoo would just redesign their boat anchor chassis, they wouldn't need the T-Motion bandaid.

I for one would love for someone to develop one and let people ride it. To say that a t-motion type linkage will make it handle like a doo makes no sense. Is the pro great to ride, yes, but I think it could be easier or better. Most will say it holds a technical line over the doo, but the doo takes less effort. If I could have the same sled with just a little less effort = love it. I've really enjoyed my 2013 pro over my 2011, isn't that much different, but just a little easier to lay over or initiate which is better for me. I love my pros, but always looking for a bit more or better.
