T motion delete whats the deal

I know this has been talked about alot but I'm tired of jumping from post to post to try and figure out if its gonna work for me. I'm looking for the pros the cons and what breaks and what preventative stuff I can do. The one thing that freaks me out is one guy said his suspension drop outs broke off and that would suck lol. I'm looking at munster delete with a zollinger stock geometry pivot arm.

T motion delete really makes no difference. That style still flexes somewhat. You could get the rear arm from zbros as extra piece of mind becuz it is beefier. But I have noticed no difference with the tmotion lock out over stock. Just as easy to hold a side hill without it.

I'm also trying to decide which way to go...I've only ridden a Ski-doo gen 4 for a total of 10 minutes.

I'm thinking about trying it out first

Its only 4 degrees of roll compared to sidehilling beyond what, a 25 degree incline rolling a sled on edge?

I have ridden two Summits back to back. One with t-motion and one without.
The one with t-motion was easier to get on edge. I did not notice any other differences.

I also rode a Summit SP and Freeride back to back. I noticed a greater difference between the two different shock packages than the t- motion comparison. The Freeride handled much better.

That was my experience. The point is I doo read what others say but in the end you need to try it both ways to really be sure.

With The Raptor Ace on my 17 850 Summit 165 I also preferred with T -Motion to fully locked out, you can change while out riding to see what U like, same snow conditions, same sled & same MTN.

Well said! There is about 10% of riding where it being locked out is better for for the other 90% t-motion works amazing! Its interesting how guys say it hinders them because they are rockstars but if you are that good on a sled your greatest ability is to be adaptive which accounts way more to be adaptive to terrain, features and how your machine reacts to these changing conditions. It really has been stated by ego with many guys saying your rad if you lock it out and your a beginner if you need it. This leads to many guys locking it out and never knowing if it makes them better or not! There is a greater change with the flex edge track over t-motion, it is just way cheaper to lock out t-motion, which is why it gets so much attention.

That’s the way I’ve looked at it, too. I’ve left my 2019 alone, and I’m a novice at best. I don’t think having or not having tMotion is what’s going to take me to the next level.

I'm no Rockstar, but many times when in treacherous terrain, I've been bucked to the downhill side & the tunnel flops over so fast that I can't recover. I'm positive that many of those mishaps would not have happened if it was locked out. I rode with t-motion for 1 season & then installed the lockout washers for a season. It was a huge improvement with the lockout washers. That 10% of riding that Norona talks about is when 90% of things get broken. I'll be changing out the rear arm for a solid one this year.

Many complain about washing out over ruts/tracks when I think it has more to do with cashed out ski bushings. You hit an old track and the ski shoots uphill and the track is gonna follow. When I swapped out to Durapros sled became much more stable and predictable on a sidehill.

I was a t motion rider..didnt mind it until owning an rmk. The solid non pivot suspension just flat outsidehills the t motion. The t motion does make the doo a very fun playful sled but also with that comes unpredictability in certain situations.

That's why I like the Raptor Ace , T-mo or No T -mo in a short amount of time with a mini wire brush loosen the set screws & lock it out, I ride with one feller that likes to go for the damn longest side hill at the end of the day when your worn out. I stop and lock the T-mo out and catch right up & pass him to beat him to the honey hole.

Yeah I've been loving mine especially those kinetic shocks ?

Really? How long have you been riding? It makes a HUGE difference.

It depends entirely on your skill level. Skidoo made T-Mo to make less skilled riders ride better. And it worked. I rode my 13 XM a ton better than my 13 Pro. There is a point where it is a hinderance as skill levels advance. Locking it makes a difference in more than just sidehills. Yes, a locked T-Mo holds a technical sidehill 10 times better than unlocked. Less wash, more consistant. Where it makes a bigger difference for me is uphill climbs through trees. Take two trees that are 12 feet wider than skis. Try keeping it pinned with T-Mo and without. And not hit either one. THAT is what sold me on lockouts. Buddy on Pro went first, buddy on Cat second, I got stuck because I had to slow down to be sure that the sled wasn't going to dart into a tree. Both guys said they never lifted, I had to. Don't believe me, come to McCall for a rip and I will show you. And if anyone says that it is easier to tip up with a lockout, they don't know how to ride. T-Mo was designed to make it easier to tip up. Locked out it is harder to tip up, but holds it once it is there. Original poster, PM-ing you, as your question hasn't been really addressed.

I used to get this until i installed durapro ski bushings and centered the ski/bushings. I was very surprised how much better the sled handled from these two changes.
