Switching to Polaris

So i'm coming off an m chassis to a 17 pro rmk 163 limited edition titanium/orange. Had the option of buying a doo 850 form a guy that had it snow checked, but after about 2 weeks he asked if he could have it back. Coming off an m I think I would of like either one of my options. The dealer is giving me 15-20 percent off all accessories and just seeing what you guys would recommend me getting. Anything I can get to do any preventative maintenance? Though about a better front bumper do to me usually hitting trees and what not. Also are those walker evans shocks pretty good? I'm about 160's with gear so not sure if it would make sense to have them re valved. Just seeing what you guys would do cause I would like to get it with potentially 20 percent off rather then buy it mid season. Thanks

I think the limited edition already comes with a stronger front bumper. Ive damage several front bumpers and i not sure if I could ever get one strong enough that wouldn't break.

I don't buy any accessories from the dealer any more as I like to find after-market accessories that work better and are cheaper. 20% maybe hard to beat however. My limited edition came with a handlebar bag, a under rear seat bag and a tunnel bag. I added a bag above the gage and a dash bag from online sources. I don't like to use backpacks. SledSolutions has alternative luggage that competes with polaris stuff.

You will need a spare belt, spark plugs and oil. If you got the 3" track you will need a qt of chain case oil at 500 miles. The belt i got online for 165 I thing the dealer is over 250. I bought the plugs and chain case oil from the dealer.

Carls helix, Carls shock revalve, lose the suitcase muffler for a 15 or so lb. weight reduction. That is the minimum that I would do.

You will want to fully clip the track to prevent premature wear. If you don't, make sure you can prove to your dealer that you adjusted it before every ride. Secondly if you want more power, the SLP pipe and can combo are the real deal. Not only makes more power but looses weight and the motor just sounds happy. You might want to ditch the carbide ski skags for round bars to reduce chances of a-arm and spindle damage from catching rocks. We have items for durability on our web site too. The standard shocks are adequate but they are stiff until they are worn in a bit. The piggy back shocks, somewhat better. At the end of the day if you ride it how it is,it will still put a huge grin on your face.

I did the under seat bag from Sled Solutions and absolutely love it. Lots of room, and the weight is on the right part of the sled. It's bigger but works well.

The SLP pipe/can kit really wakes up the Axys. Best performance this side of a turbo kit.

I have the piggy back WE shocks. They are better than the standard WE shocks, but still leave a little to be desired. I've considered either revalving them or going to Fox or Exits. At 165 lbs, you probably won't have any bottom out issues that I've ran into.

There's not a lot you have to do to this sled. Pick the bag combo you want and at the very least, get rid of the stock can. The sled rips!
