A stock 09 is a turd. I would suggest a 10 or newer and of course boost if possible.

Yep they are. I've also spent time on the 10/11's, and my opinion is much the same. Just my unbiased 2 cents. Anyways, I'm heading back to the Cat section, enjoy your ride Pauland!

The 2011 Mtx i'm looking at has dealer installed push kit they are a western yami dealer so the set-up should be good, I was told by the dealer that at low altitude it would need race fuel and clutch changes.. I was just hoping you guys would tell me there was a pump gas solution, still it would be nice to have an AV fuel tank on my trailer :)

One last thing, if you dont want to run race fuel, I had meth injection on my Nytro for low elevations and it worked nicely. That's extra weight, but obviously decent cost savings.
 
Thanks for the info. I think a lot of people forget how much $ and parts they have invested in their own sled besides just being boosted in order for it to perform like it does.

I'm not saying anyone would purposely leave out information in order to say one sled is better than another, but if aftermarket a arms, skis, steering relocation and rear skid are needed to make this sled competitive, we should also make mention of this to new guys coming into the Yamaha brand. These parts are all over and above the cost of the sled and turbo kit.

I agree that the Nytro is delivered in a form that is unacceptable for most peoples mountain riding style. That can be said about all four manufacturers. However, Yamaha is the #1 offender in that regards. At least the aftermarket can fix those problems. Should it be that way? No. But I don't live in a perfect world and I am pretty picky about what I like/don't like.

It took extra money for me to make it in to the sled that I wanted, but it has never been back to the dealer in three hard years worth of riding either. I guess it comes down to picking your poison. I'll take my Nytro 8 days out of 7 over a Cat or Doo, the jury is still out on the RMK and I'm pretty sure I'd take my Nytro over the Poo.

I like the tree's, but i'm a slow tree rider.. As long as the sled stays on top of the snow I should be ok. I have my Assault fixed so far but that Yami still calling my name :) thanks for all the input!

I purchased my first nytro this last fall. i think i have a serious problem.... because even though i knew it would take alot of money to get it to where i want it, i enjoy the "challenge" of taking something and improving it to where i want it. plus installing and testing aftermarket parts is half the fun isnt it? :face-icon-small-ton
