switching ecu's?

I have an 03 mountain cat with a square on the ecu and the # is a 3006 number and I wanted to switch it with my fiance's 01 mountain cat ecu to check with mine is screwed up or not hers has a square but her # starts with 3005. Are they going to have different power curves that might screw something up. I would take it in the hook it up on a computer but I think they are charging way too much for it so I am try to troubleshoot it myself. So any help would be great thanks.

Plug it in a fire it up. I dont see any trouble useing it for trouble shooting. Should be ok for a few minutes of running.

Are these both 600s? The '01 800 did not come in EFI, and the ECU plugs are different between the 800 EFI and the 900 EFI anyway.

If they are 600s, I wouldn't see a problem swapping for troubleshooting.
