I don’t like the two options to chose from, both of them say delete the post. Why DONT you want 900 parts in a 900 Forum???? And dont say they should be in the swap meat. Im so sick of looking at cat 900 parts of some other part that has nothing to do with a polaris 900 when i do a search or when I know there was a part that someone posted and it was moved and I never find it again.
I say leave any “for sale or WTB” post that are for a 900 Polaris in the Polaris900 forum!!!!

Snowman, I understand your point of view, however, the reason that that is included in both options, is because that is FORUM POLICY. I have no ability or wish to override this policy as it would turn the whole section into a big yard sale and that is not what we want to happen.:eek::eek:

All I am asking in this poll is if the members who are trying to sell their personal stuff for these sleds want my help or not and if everyone else is OK with having 1 more sticky at the top of the page for it.Like I said in my opening post, I have actually been pretty lenient on some ads, if I get any complaints about ads being up, rest assured, I will follow forum policy to the letter and delete EVERY single ad that is sales related. I don't think thats really what everyone wants tho.

So this is my compromise, take it or leave it, I just need to know one way or the other.

You are crazy and I dont think you should be running the 900 Forum anymore!!! To write (I will follow forum policy to the letter and delete EVERY single ad that is sales related you are basically saying you dont want to stick up for forum users)
Then telling us to take a poll and asking us to pick the lesser of two evils is not right. The person that wrote the FORUM POLICY does not care if I post a polaris 900 piston in the polaris 900 forum and if your think he does you are so wrong. Leave the FS&WTB posts alone for now and I bet it will work out just fine. BTW I would love to see a yard sale with only 900 parts in one spot and the 900 seems like the right place for that. But not moved into some swap meat where I need to look through 100 other parts not to even find what I was looking for.
And in closing, cry babys that say, "I dont like to see 900 parts for sale in a 900 forum". What is wrong with you? what is wrong with it???? Im asking. Is it that big of a deal?? Maybe it would be if 1st page was nothing but things for sale but its not so chill out!!!!!
Im fighting for Forum user RIGHTS :) and maybe im all wrong

I wouldnt be so hard on him. We mods have to answer to the higher power and are no different than a average user. They the Supermods have control over our forums and frequently will make the change if we dont. Than we have the egg on our face and they dont. What 94fordguys is trying to do is just be one step ahead of them to avoid the few whiners that you refer to below.

^^^^^well said and I believe is a good position. I think it should be left alone as well and if it becomes a problem than it should be addressed then. ie first page full of ads. keep in mind members are not the ONLY ones fighting for user RIGHTS! we mods are to, so dont kill the messanger:beer;:beer;

Snowman, I am sorry to see that you look at me as your enemy, on the contrary, I volunteered my time to try and help out the guys in this forum and I try to balance the users inputs with what should be done as best as I can, I am only here to try and help as best I can. The whole reason there is a swapmeet section to begin with is because if everyone posted their ads in here, it would simply get swamped and the people who use this forum for information would be forced to wade through lots of sales threads.

Concerning your "Yard Sale for the 900s" idea, That is essentially what I am proposing, a place for the 900 guys to post links to all their ads so the rest of us can find the parts much easier, while at the same time, keeping the clutter factor down to a minimum.

As for your asking what is wrong with listing the parts, and the USERS who do not like to see the for sale ads, That is their opinion based on what they want and they have as much right to voice their opinion as you do for the opinion you have given.

We are all members of the same forum and all have slightly different ideas on what the ideal setup would look like, that is why I have asked for the opinions on this topic. Rest assured I have not forgotten your comments, I take them very seriously, without yourself and the other members of this forum, I would have no reason to volunteer my time to try to help out...

If you have any other questions or comments on this topic, I invite you to post them here and keep the discussion going. If you have already made up your mind that I am the devil and wish to tell me your personal opinions in private, you are welcome to send me a private message, I will do my best to reply to you in a timely manner.

Thank you - 94:)

You are doing the right thing by me!

At least he is giving us options on what is to be done and we are discussing it. This shows that 94FordGuy is only out for bettering our little community while trying to stay within the bounds of the Forum rules. If only he were the final say in the matter but he is not. There are other mods higher than him that may take matters into their own hands and just delete every Sale post.

I would not be so hard on 94FordGuy. He is a BIG part of what makes the 900 section so nice.

On the for-sales, yes I believe a sticky is what we need. If you are looking for parts and wanna browse through it, too easy. Hands down the information sought by members is far more important than selling items. Don't get me wrong I have gotten more than a few parts from forum members and the swapmeet is important.

My 2 cents

Ok you are not the devil :) And I will say sorry for running my mouth "AKA my key board" I would have said it to your face if I had the chance and maybe more :) My under lining feelings is, let people do what they want when it come to things like this. I do understand there will be some complainers but to give into them is like giving into the government. Back in 2002 guys were getting all fired up at people posting in the wrong spot and key board fights would start from it and it was always the same guys jumping on some guy that posted his INDY XLT in the racing forum. But anyway thank your guys for your help and the things I don’t see. We should have a 900 forum ride.
Maybe I should start a Post for it. BTW I do have a 900 :) I wasn’t fighting just to fight.:beer;:beer;:beer;:beer;

i say go with the sticky. But could we make it for the 05/06 900 and the 755 rmk. since most parts r the same, except the engines

It would absolutely be open for the 755 owners as well. The '900' forum is just as much for them as well since they are completely identical sleds with the exception of the top end and ecu flash.:beer;

TTT

The poll will close in 6-1/2 hrs....

Any last minute comments anyone would care to make for or against the idea are greatly appreciated.:beer;

how about we keep all the swap meet open, I like to see what parts are for sale period... sometimes I dont know I want something until I see it, there is a search function use it to find what you want.

I agree, a single sticky for 900 specific or applicable parts. But all stray sale threads should be moved.

Ditto, although I understand that there are other makes and models out there that have been in such little production that they may have the same problem we have, i know for a fact there is no other sled out there like ours, hence the sticky 900 pages:beer; I like the idea of the 900 for sale sticky at the top of the page, move all the strays and see how that works, BTW thankss 94ford for moving my seat the other day:mad::) haha i did sell it but thanks for the personal warning, i appreciate it. I more or less just think there are so many parts that only fit on this sled that it would be good to have them in one spot...especially since we are all often looking for PARTS and info...

Based on the majority feedback of everyone in here, I have created a sticky at the top of the 900 forum for those who are interested in taking advantage of it.

The new sticky has been named, The Parts Counter ---> http://www.snowest.com/forum/showthread.php?t=184582

Thanks for all your comments on this issue, I appreciate all the feedback both ways.:beer;:beer;:beer;
