Suspension set up?

How do you guys have your suspension set up on the older Indy's? My sled is a 90 650, I was told to tighten up the front springs, but I'm clueless as to how I set up the rear..

It has a 133.5x1.5 and for now, I would like to set it up for deep snow.

Are your limiter straps on the front of the skid adjustable?

Is your skid mounted somewhat low so it hangs out of the tunnel a little bit in the rear?

We always drilled out bottom hole for the front mounting hole on the track suspension, dropped the rear mount to bottom hole in bracket and added an additional hole to let limiter strap out slightly more than could be done with the stock holes. Before the days of paddle tracks we also installed the Simmons speed cleats on the track but they had to be replaced each year due to breakage. Cycle Works out of Alberta made a set of cleats that had a lifetime warranty and I started running those instead. You'll want to keep your ski pressure light for the powder so don't preload your rear springs too much.

Do these instructions also go for other sleds in the early 90's like the 400's and 500's. I am trying to set up a 91 400 for my son.

I used to let out the stock front limiter strap as much as you could. Tighten up the rear springs for about 1 1/2" sag, or as light as possible, your going to bottom out on bigger hits. I left the frount mount in the factory hole and dropped the rear down to the lower one. They are pretty old suspensions and there isn't much you can do with them. Yes we used to set up the 4/500's the same way

Haha well if I had it my way I'd swap a 140ish-150ish track and suspension from a newer sled in it, but that's not in the cards right now, just hoping to make one more season on it.
