suspension set up

We have a race coming up and I'am letting my wife race my TM8 it is a snow pro just wondering if anybody has a good rear suspension set up, want to keep the skis from pointing straight up when she takes off,we are leaving off 24'of tracks nailed to plywood.any suggestions would be great

don't understand the "24' tracks nailed to the plywood" but you need to couple that rear skid to keep it from wheeling .

tracks

What it is old snowmobile tracks cut and screwed down to pywood for launching pads they work awesome, you get the same constancy all day long.

I wouldn't even worry about it, I would teach her how to launch more than anything, if your running any kind of real boost, even if you keep the skis down when it comes off the pad its going to break loose, Sounds like a good way to break stuff, your going to be at lower elevation= more power and force everything to work, I think I would tighten the track a little also. Just let her get the feel of it and how to vary the throttle, If the thing hooks hard enough that it would full out wheelie she will prob roll off the back anyway. Most people will go side to side also, there is now way you can keep the skis on the ground for steering unless you put a block of wood in the suspension to hold it stiff and then it wont transfer at all. So if you can get on some grass or somewhere it will hook pretty well and let her practice it will give the most advantage, teach you don't have to go full throttle off the line either, control will most likely win this race.

Starting a race with full traction seems sketchy to me... like wyo said... asking to break stuff!!

suck up limiters stiffen rear shock. Sounds like your main purpose will be keeping the front down, not much for terrain, so shove those skis into the ground. I'd see if you can let her launch on grass or something first though... that traction is gonna surprise the piss outta her if she's never done it before.
