Suspension help

i got a 2003 mxz rev 800 and the front suspension feels REALLY soft in comparison to my 07 summit 800. I was wondering if i should get a stiffer spring or should i get a whole new shock and spring. Also can i take the front suspension off my 05 550 fan or will that suspension even feel softer.
I am kind of a newbie so don't roast me to hard but i can accept constructive criticism.

The shocks probably need to be rebuilt. Is it a X model? The X's had rebuildable shocks on them, otherwise, you have to buy replacement shocks for the standard models.

it is not the X so i guess i need to replace everything.

Just shocks, check out ebay to see if you can get a cheap pair of rebuildables or fox.
