I agree that most is just tongue in cheek (got KFC stock?
)...but some has been pretty eye opening.In other words your from Washington right? nuff said.... Sorry bro, were all a little butt hurt and afraid. People are saying some things they dont really mean and some are trying to send out a message that they wont stand for losing their freedom. Hopefully it will all pass, hopefully....

As long as there are different races in this country, there will be racism. You can't blame it on the whites, you can't blame it on the blacks or mexicans or whatever. America is a melting pot and the jesse jacksons make a really good living stirring it.
Why limit it to Jesse? Throw in Rev. Al Sharpton and Loius Farrakhan. Hey come to think of it who did those guys endorse in the election?

Nah, I agree with modsledr on this one...... Divisionism is pretty strong here with lots of half truths flowing around from all sides.... The amount of hate that gets thrown around is amazing too... People fail to realize that at the core we are all the same.... same core beliefs, same core principles, just we have some different philosophys when it comes to life external of our own.My biggest worry is that if this is how we look / act during a presidential race, how will we come off / be perceived when fighting to keep our riding areas open? The inability to communicate (with all sides!) in a productive mannor will kill any standing that snowmobilers might have...

So the hatred that was blown around while Mr. Bush was president is somehow better? I don't personally agree with racism, but everyside has found a reason to not like the other.
Ruff is right about coming together, particularly on this 4m and for the topics we care about by participating on this forum, sledding. We as a democracy have voted for Mr. Obama as our president, the fight is over for now, until the next election. We need to stand behind him as he does the work of the president and dislike him for his policy and fight to have him hear our side of what makes better policy.
Hopefully they will issue gas credits for all the motors on your property, not just the cars, then we can still sled after we get out of the soup line......

The election was the end result of 14 months of political saturation.
The division within the country is huge. The dems were in charge once before and the result was bad on a massive scale. There is a lot of frustration and anger on both sides.
IF Obama actually does work with the conservatives and the liberals we might actually get some good stuff. Unfortunetly we are pretty much stuck with a 2 party system. So all we did tuesday was switch one extreme for another.
Oh, and am I the only person who HATES the term African American?
For 6 months we heard "It's not about race". When Obama won the first words out of the mouth of the NBC report was "An African American has won the presidency". No, an african american did NOT win the race. An american won the race. They talk about doing away with the race problem they need to stop putting people in a box based on their skin color.

I'm with you Ollie. I DESPISE the term "African American". Obama is not from Africa (jury is till out on that) and he's not even black, he's mulatto. Prior to this election, if Obama were to walk through a tough black neighborhood he'd get is *** kicked big time.
Nope, just as bad..... I don't hate Bush... BTW Same problem though, hate bush for this, hate obama for that..... It is easy to say those things from our soap boxes.
